47thPennVols is a published non-fiction author, genealogist and humanities researcher-writer with a specific interest in U.S. and world history and, more specifically, in the history of the 47th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, including the lives of its members and their families before, during and after the American Civil War.
A native Pennsylvanian, I am also a direct descendant of a member of this regiment, and have been engaged in documenting the burial locations of each member of the 47th Pennsylvania Volunteers and their immediate families for roughly a decade, and have also been actively involved with the Women in Red WikiProject to increase the number of notable women's biographies on Wikipedia. The majority of my Wikipedia-related volunteer work is done for the English language version of Wikipedia as User:47thPennVols.
