This bot works on items without claims. The bot tries to add the first statements based on the templates used on the linked article.

How to help
[edit]This bot needs your help to function. I'll take the English Wikipedia as an example as most people tend to speak English.
As preparation open a couple of pages in different tabs to work on
- Open the list of top templates at en:User:NoclaimsBot/Top templates
- Open the full list of articles with templates at http://tools.wmflabs.org/noclaims/templates/enwiki.txt
- Open the templates to claim at en:User:NoclaimsBot/Template claim
Than take these steps:
- Look in Wikidata:Database reports/templates and items with 0 claims/enwiki for a template you think you add a claim too. I took en:Template:China-stub
- Verify by checking an couple of articles on this list of articles tagged with the template are what you expect
- Go on Wikidata and figure out a claim to add. In this case country (P17) People's Republic of China (Q148)
- Add a line to en:User:NoclaimsBot/Template claim like "* [[Template:China-stub]] P17 Q148"
Continue doing this steps until you feel that you did enough.

Mistakes
[edit]If you run into an edit by this bot you think is a mistake: Don't revert it, but correct it. This bot only works on items that have zero statements. If you revert the bot and remove the last statement in the process, the bot will just do the same edit again a day later. Even better to update the configuration so no future mistakes will be made.
