Merging items
[edit]Hallo Boivie,
For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

Anti-Corruption Protests in Russia (2017-03-26)
[edit]You merged completely different entities: Anti-Corruption Protests in Russia (2017-03-26) (Q29032783)
(for example: c:Category:Anti-Corruption Protests in Russia (2017-03-26)) and 2017 Russian protests (Q29042036)
(for example: c:Category:Demonstrations and protests in Russia in 2017). Please unmerge and be careful in the future. --sasha (krassotkin) 07:26, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- The articles that were included in the merge were all about the Anti-Corruption Protests in Russia 2017-03-26. I removed the commons category before the merge, since it was about a broader subject. Boivie (talk) 07:56, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please read names of these articles. The category of Commons was correctly associated with the object with the same name. Please restore it. --sasha (krassotkin) 08:19, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- Please read the text in these articles. All of them mention the date of the protests the 26th of March 2017. Boivie (talk) 08:34, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- And what about the category of Commons and its entity on Wikidata that you removed? Please restore it. --sasha (krassotkin) 08:52, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- This is logically because this is the first major rally in Russia in 2017. But you should not combine the general with a part of it on the Wikidata. --sasha (krassotkin) 08:52, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
