About the Office

The Office of the Provost represents the core of the academic and research planning and administration at William & Mary. As the chief academic officer, the provost works in close collaboration with the deans of arts & sciences and the schools of business, education, law and marine science to advance the university’s mission and vision in teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and the recruitment, development and retention of faculty.

Provost Peggy Agouris

As Provost, Peggy Agouris is the chief academic officer of William & Mary. The provost, in accordance with policies established by the Board of Visitors, is responsible for all academic and research programs, academic budgets, institutional planning, space and resource allocation, and the recruitment, development and retention of faculty.

School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics

The School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics expands the university's ability to prepare students to thrive in a data-rich world. It will bring together four of the university's high-performing units: Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science and Physics. These will move into the new school in the fall of 2025.
