According to Morningstar Sustainalytics' ESG Risk Ratings, ZTE has consistently lowered its ESG risk ratings from 2021 to 2023, with scores of 22 (2021), 19.2 low risk (2022), and 16.1 low risk (2023).
Morningstar Sustainalytics' ESG Risk Ratings measure a company's exposure to industry-specific material ESG risks and how well a company is managing those risks. The rating scale ranges from 0 to 10,identifying five categories of ESG risk severity that could impact a company's enterprise value: Negligible (0-10), Low (10-20), Medium (20-30), High (30-40), Severe (40+). A higher score indicates higher risks faced by the company.
From 2021 to 2023, ZTE's EcoVadis Sustainability Rating has shown a continuous improvement: 56 (2021), 63 (2022), and 68 (2023). In 2023, ZTE has seen its EcoVadis industry percentage ranking rising to the top 10%, earning the EcoVadis Silver Medal.
EcoVadis sustainability rating methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000, covering 220+ spend categories and 180+ countries. The Sustainability Scorecard illustrates performance across 21 indicators in four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, Sustainable Procurement.
From 2021 to 2023, ZTE's S&P Global ESG Scores have been continuously improving, reaching 31 in 2021, 34 in 2022, 39 in 2023 and was selected for the S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook 2024 (China Edition) and honored with the title of "Industry Mover".
