Hō͘-sòaⁿ
Hō͘-sòaⁿ sī chi̍t lūi ū cha̍h hō͘-chúi ia̍h ji̍t-thâu lō͘-iōng ê mi̍h-kiāⁿ, kin-sè it-poaⁿ liû-hêng ê khoán-sek sī hâm chi̍t ki koáiⁿ kiam sì-ûi ki-kut ha̍p chò kui cho͘ hō͘-sòaⁿ-kut[1] chi-chhî chi̍t phìⁿ ū cha̍h hō͘ ji̍t chok-iōng ê khàm-kòa.[2]
Iōng-gí
[siu-kái | kái goân-sí-bé]Nā beh te̍k-pia̍t piáu-sī cha̍h ji̍t ê hō͘-sòaⁿ, thang kóng "iông-sòaⁿ" (陽傘) he̍k-chiá sī "niû-sòaⁿ" (涼傘). Chóng-sī Lán-lâng it-poaⁿ taⁿ ēng "hō͘-sòaⁿ" chò phó͘-thong iōng-gí.
Le̍k-sú
[siu-kái | kái goân-sí-bé]Hō͘-sòaⁿ ū chiau-kòe 3000 tang ê le̍k-sú, kó͘-chá ū chong-kàu kap sîn-ōe sèng-chit ê siōng-cheng-sèng. Ai-ki̍p, Tiong-kok, Ìn-tō͘ sī chú-iàu koan-hē tio̍h chá-kî hō͘-sòaⁿ hoat-tián le̍k-sú ê só͘-chāi. Koh chhinc-hhiūⁿ tī chi̍t kóa só͘-chāi, pí-lūn Myanmar kap Siam-lô, hō͘-sòaⁿ hông tòng-chò sī kok-ông chú-khoân ê siōng-cheng-bu̍t.[2]
19 sè-kí Eng-kok khai-sí seng-sán kǹg-thih châi-chit ê hō͘-sòaⁿ-kut, tè-bé hoat-tián oa̍h-hiáⁿ ê hō͘-sòaⁿ kang-gia̍p, che mā piáu-hiān tī 1851 nî ê pho̍k-lám-hōe. Hō͘-sòaⁿ tī Eng-lân ê bûn-ha̍k tang-tiong sī chi̍t khoán thang tāi-piáu Eng-lân-lâng ê mi̍h-kiāⁿ.[2]
