ORCID導入のコストと利点とは？英国の試行プロジェクト 英国のJisc（英国情報システム合同委員会）と研究マネジメント専門職ネットワーク（Association of Research Managers and Administrators：ARMA）は，2014年5月から2015年1月にかけて8つの高等教育機関で行われていたORCID（CA1740参照）の試行プロジェクトについてのレポート“Institutional ORCID Implementation and Cost-Benefit Analysis Report”（以下レポート）を公開した。ORCIDとは，世界中の研究者に一意な識別子を与えることを目指す試みであり，ORCID識別子を導入することで，著者等の名前の曖昧性を解決するだけでなく，研究プロファイルのメンテナンス，助成金申請，論文投稿，論文など，研究者と研究を関連づけ
英The Booksellerによると、図書館団体Society of Chief Librariansと出版社団体Publishers Associationが2014年3月から行なっていた図書館での電子書籍販売実験が終了したとのこと。 この実験調査は英国内の公共図書館数カ所で行われたもので、電子書籍の貸し出しページに購入ボタンも用意し、電子書籍購入の誘導媒体として図書館が有用かどうか調査。結果、電子書籍ユーザーは総じてIT知識が高く、電子書籍購入ボタンをクリックしたのは1％以下だったとのこと。 この実験結果を受け、書店組合Booksellers AssociationのTim Godfray代表は「公共図書館での電子書籍貸し出しは、地元書店にとって脅威であることがより明確になった」とコメントしている。 関連記事 英国で実験中間報告「電子図書館に購入ボタンを設置しても、電子書籍の購入につ
