飲食店を利用している人の約7割が他人のたばこを不快と感じ、そのうち同じ店を再び利用する人が約2割にとどまっていることが、ファイザーが発表した「飲食店での受動喫煙に関する意識調査」で分かった。回答者の95%超が飲食店に対して受動喫煙対策を希望していることも明らかになっており、ファイザーでは「今後、飲食店には全面禁煙を含むさらなる受動喫煙対策が求められる」としている。 調査は、週に一度以上、飲食店を利用している喫煙者400人と非喫煙者400人の計800人を対象に実施した。 「飲食店で他の客のたばこの煙に不快な思いをしたことがあるか」との問いには、全体の67.3%(538人)が「ある」と回答した。喫煙者でも46.5%(186人)が「ある」と答えており、飲食店では、非喫煙者だけでなく、喫煙者も他人の喫煙を不快に感じる割合の高いことが分かった。 この他人のたばこで不快な思いをした538人に対し
