- The Annecy shootings, also the French Alps shootings or the Chevaline killings, were the deaths on 5 September 2012 of three members of a British family and a French citizen on the Route Forestière Domaniale de la Combe d'Ire near Chevaline, Haute-Savoie, France, near the southern end of Lake Annecy. Four people were killed: an Iraqi-born British tourist named Saad al-Hilli, 50; his wife Iqbal, 47; her mother Suhaila al-Allaf, 74, who held a Swedish passport; and French cyclist Sylvain Mollier, 45. The al-Hillis' two daughters both survived the attack. One, aged 4, was hidden under the legs of her dead mother in the rear footwell for eight hours even while the Gendarmerie were on the scene; she was only discovered by specialist forensic investigators. The elder daughter, aged 7, was shot in the shoulder and also suffered a head wound; she returned to the United Kingdom on 14 September 2012. Police investigated al-Hilli's past in Iraq as an engineer on sensitive topics, as well as his work at the time of his death, as a potential motive for the attack. The attack has been compared to the 1952 killing of biochemist Jack Drummond in the Dominici affair. In September 2017, after five years of investigation, French police said they had "no working theory" to explain the murders and no suspects. Veronique Dizot, the lead prosecutor, suggested that the family "may have been targeted randomly". (en)

Sie wurden am 5. September 2012 auf einem Waldparkplatz bei Chevaline etwa 7 km südlich des Lac d’Annecy erschossen. Der Hintergrund der Tat ist bis heute ungeklärt, der oder die Mörder nicht ermittelt. (de)
- La tuerie de Chevaline est un quadruple assassinat qui s'est déroulé dans des circonstances mystérieuses le mercredi 5 septembre 2012 sur le bord d'un chemin forestier situé sur la commune de Doussard, à la limite de la commune de Chevaline, dont le bourg est plus proche, dans le parc naturel régional du Massif des Bauges en Haute-Savoie. Depuis cet événement tragique, aucune hypothèse n'est privilégiée pour expliquer les circonstances de cette tuerie malgré plusieurs enquêtes en cours. Parallèlement à cette affaire, des directeurs de publication et un journaliste ont été poursuivis devant le tribunal correctionnel d'Annecy pour « recel de violation du secret de l'instruction », à la suite d'une plainte déposée par la famille d'une victime de ce quadruple assassinat. Après condamnation en première instance, ils sont relaxés en appel ou en cassation. (fr)
- La strage di Annecy è stata una misteriosa sparatoria avvenuta il 5 settembre 2012 e che ha causato la morte di 4 persone, tre membri di una famiglia britannica e un cittadino francese, avvenuta sulla Route Forestière Domaniale de la Combe d'Ire, vicino a Chevaline, in Alta Savoia, poco distante dall'estremità meridionale del lago di Annecy . La famiglia inglese era composta da un uomo di origine irachena di 50 anni, Saad al-Hilli, da sua moglie Iqbal, 47 anni e dalla suocera Suhaila al-Allaf, 74 anni e passaporto svedese. Le 2 figlie della coppia sono entrambe sopravvissute: la prima, Zainab, di 7 anni, è stata ferita gravemente ad una spalla e alla testa, ed è rientrata nel Regno Unito il 14 settembre 2012 senza poter fornire informazioni utili alle indagini; la seconda, Zeena, di 4 anni, è rimasta illesa nascondendosi sotto le gambe della madre morta sul sedile posteriore per otto ore, invisibile anche mentre la gendarmeria era già sul luogo del delitto. Entrambe ora vivono in Inghilterra con lo zio paterno. La vittima francese è Sylvain Mollier, 45 anni. L'attacco è stato paragonato all'uccisione nel 1952 del biochimico . Nel settembre 2017, dopo 5 anni di indagini, la polizia francese ha dichiarato di non avere "nessuna teoria in corso" per spiegare gli omicidi e i sospetti.
