- Zambujal (auch Castro do Zambujal) ist eine befestigte Siedlung der Kupferzeit (3. und 2. Jahrtausend v. Chr.) auf der Iberischen Halbinsel. Sie liegt auf einem Bergsporn in der Nähe von Torres Vedras in Portugal. Durch geoarchäologische Untersuchungen, insbesondere Bohrungen in der Aue des Rio Sizandro und der zufließenden Ribeira de Pedrulhos, wurde festgestellt, dass die Siedlung des 3. Jts. v. Chr. nur etwa einen Kilometer von einem heute verlandeten Meeresarm entfernt lag. Zambujal gehört zu einer Reihe von Fundorten, in der die früheste Kupfer-Metallurgie auf der Iberischen Halbinsel nachgewiesen wurde.Dazu gehören u. a. in Spanien Los Millares (Provinz Almería), Valencina de la Concepción (Provinz Sevilla), Cabezo Juré (Provinz Huelva), und in Portugal Alcalar (Algarve), Vila Nova de São Pedro (Distrikt Lissabon) und Leceia (in der Nähe der Tejomündung). Vor der Mitte des 3. Jahrtausends v. Chr. scheint in der heutigen portugiesischen Estremadura das sogenannte Glockenbecher-Phänomen entstanden zu sein. Zambujal gehört also in den Bereich der frühen Metallurgie auf der Iberischen Halbinsel und zum Kerngebiet der Glockenbecher-Bewegung, die sich dann relativ schnell in Europa ausbreitete. (de)

The Zambujal Castro is one of the most important Copper Age settlements in the peninsula of Lisbon, and whose culture lasted until the beginning of the agrarian periods of Iberian history. Apart from being the most northerly discovered Copper Age site in Portugal, it went through two main building phases: an import-oriented phase and the second associated with the Beaker culture. Most of the artefacts discovered at the site are stored and displayed in the Leonel Trindade Municipal Museum, Torres Vedras. (en)

- Zambujal – stanowisko archeologiczne z okresu eneolitu i wczesnej epoki brązu, znajdujące się w Portugalii, 3 km na północny zachód od Torres Vedras. Stanowisko zostało odkryte w 1932 roku przez Leonela Trindade, który następnie przeprowadził w latach 1944 i 1959 pierwsze prace wykopaliskowe. Kolejne wykopaliska przeprowadzone zostały w 1964 i 1973 roku pod kierownictwem E. Sangmeistera z Uniwersytetu we Freiburgu i w 1994 roku przez M. Kunsta z Niemieckiego Instytutu Archeologicznego w Madrycie. Prace archeologiczne odsłoniły ruiny prehistorycznej osady, rozwijającej się w pięciu fazach, z których najstarsza datowana jest na drugą połowę III tysiąclecia p.n.e. Łączy się ją z kulturą pucharów dzwonowatych. Osada otoczona była niezbyt wysokim murem, w obrębie którego znajdowały się kamienne domostwa. Podstawę gospodarki zamieszkującej jej ludności stanowiła prawdopodobnie hodowla. W trakcie prac wykopaliskowych odkryto świadectwa rozwiniętego przemysłu kościanego i kamiennego oraz liczne zabytki miedziane takie jak topory, siekiery, szpile i ciosła. (pl)
