- Compost Records ist ein Münchener Independent-Label, das 1994 von (Musikjournalist, DJ, Clubmacher, Produzent, Plattensammler) gegründet wurde. Es veröffentlicht weltweit Lounge- und andere elektronische Musik. Compost gilt international als eines der wichtigsten deutschen Label für Lounge, Downbeat und Trip-Hop. Im Gegensatz zu Labels die eine stringente A&R Philosophie (z. B. nur House) verfolgten, hat sich Compost über die Jahre die „Qualität eines hochwertigen Feinkost-Gemischtwarenladens“ (Groove Magazin) aufgebaut. Neben vielen Alben und Remix-Veröffentlichungen umfasst das musikalische Repertoire von Compost Records auch viele Kompilationen wie Future Sounds of Jazz – Vol. 1–10, Glücklich 1–5, kompiliert von Rainer Trüby mit ihren für die Entwicklung des beispielhaften Tracks, das , und Kompilationen wie Party-Keller 1-3, die Elaste-Serie und die Black Label-Kompilationen. - Compost Records is a German record label based in Munich and established by in 1993. The label is known for progressive downbeat dance and nu jazz releases incorporating influences of bossa nova, techno, and drum and bass. The Future Sounds of Jazz compilation series helped establish the label early in its history. The majority of artists signed to Compost Records are those known to Reinboth personally, from connections in the German downbeat club scene. The company has resisted licensing its catalog to larger labels, seeking instead to develop roster reputations in-house. Reinboth selected the name Compost for his label because it translates well among many languages, and felt it denoted a "catalyst for constitution and reactions". In the United States, Compost was initially distributed by K7! Distribution and then by Studio Distribution, until 2002, when it switched to Shelter Music Group. The book Soul Love: 20 Years Compost Records was released in 2015, featuring text in both English and German, over 450 photographs from the history of the label, and a download code for a forty-track compilation. - Compost Records es un sello disquero alemán fundado por Michael Reinboth en 1994. La etiqueta evolucionó en sus 15 años de existencia de una pequeña empresa impulsada por un solo hombre desde su dormitorio a un verdadero negocio creativo con amplias oficinas en el este de Múnich, Alemania. Hoy el sello posee un catálogo cercano a los 30 artistas exclusivos y alrededor de 60 proyecto no exclusivos, más de 350 producciones, que incluyen 100 CD y 250 álbumes en vinilo. Además de otros trabajos en cinco sellos subsidiarios: Drumpoet Community, Angora Steel, Compost Black Label actualmente en funcionamiento, mientras que los subsellos creados antes del año 2000, Compose, Jazzanova Compost Records (JCR) y Compute están actualmente inactivos, pero Compost sigue manteniendo este catálogo descontinuado. Una de las producciones más famosas del sello alemán son una serie de 11 compilados de artistas de Nu Jazz llamados "Future Sounds Of Jazz" (Vol. 1-11). Estos compilados son referencias de la música electrónica de vanguardia, los cuales han sido premiados por diversas publicaciones como las mejores recopilaciones de temas.
