- Die Sky Deutschland GmbH (ehemaliger bzw. alter Name: Premiere (TV)) ist ein deutscher Medienkonzern mit Sitz in Unterföhring bei München. Das Unternehmen betreibt über seine Tochtergesellschaft Sky Deutschland Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG ein Pay-TV-Angebot und ist seit Oktober 2018 selbst eine Tochter der US-amerikanischen Comcast Corporation. Sky besitzt Senderechte in Deutschland und Österreich, in der Schweiz können ausgewählte Pakete über das Bezahlfernseh-Angebot Teleclub bezogen werden, in Luxemburg über das Bezahlfernseh-Angebot von Post Luxembourg, Eltrona und Orange Luxembourg. Sky Deutschland verzeichnete im Jahr 2005 (damals noch als Premiere) über 3,4 Millionen Abonnenten, im Jahr 2017 5 Millionen Abonnenten. Die Sky Deutschland GmbH ging am 27. September 2015 durch Umwandlung aus der Sky Deutschland AG hervor. Dem war der Aufkauf der im Streubesitz liegenden Gesellschaftsanteile der Minderheitsaktionäre durch den Mehrheitsaktionär vorangegangen. Nach einem Squeeze-out-Verfahren und anschließendem Delisting der Aktien von der Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse, das am 8. Juni 2015 von der Sky Deutschland AG angekündigt wurde und am 23. Juli 2015 abgeschlossen war, wurden sämtliche Anteile der Sky Deutschland AG über die Sky German Holdings GmbH von der britischen Sky Limited gehalten, die seit Oktober 2018 zu Comcast gehört.
