The DOJ has asked for a permanent injunction against the company, along with civil penalties and refunds for consumers.

The sum includes refunds of more than $3.3 million for 479 customers, most of whom were “older or disabled adults” who had been “sold expensive, unproven stem cell products.”

Avanti has previously said it is "disappointed" by the strikes and has advised customers to travel "either side of strike dates or claim a full refund."

According to the release from LNK, "Do not use any remaining product marked with the above lot code; return the item to your local Costco for a full refund."

Ms Jones said she had been to other venues in England where the charge was refunded.
