College is frequently seen as a period of transition and personal development, but it may also be... more College is frequently seen as a period of transition and personal development, but it may also be a period of emotional upheaval. Important abilities that can assist college students in navigating the difficulties of this time include emotional intelligence (EI) and interpersonal emotion regulation (IER). Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capacity to identify, comprehend, and control one's own emotions as well as those of others, while interpersonal emotion regulation (IER) is the capacity to control emotions in social contexts, particularly during interpersonal interactions with others. This study investigates the link between interpersonal emotion regulation and emotional intelligence among college students (N=80) from Delhi NCR who are between the ages of 18 and 25. Standardised tests were used to measure Interpersonal Emotion Regulation and Emotional Intelligence. Further Interpersonal Emotion Regulation was studied under 4 factors, Enhancing Positive Affect, Perspective Taking, Social Modeling and Soothing. The results found that Enhancing Positive Affect was significantly and positively correlated with Emotional Intelligence, Further a significant gender difference was found where female college students scored higher in Emotional Intelligence than male college students. However, no significant difference could be found among the male and female students when it came to Interpersonal Emotion Regulation. College students can improve their Emotional Intelligence and Interpersonal Emotion Regulation by practising self-reflection, engaging in mindfulness practices, practising active listening and seeking feedback from others. By implementing these strategies, students can become more aware of their emotional states, regulate their emotions in social situations and improve their overall interpersonal functioning.

With each year, the consumption of social media rises especially among teens and young adults bor... more With each year, the consumption of social media rises especially among teens and young adults bordering on behavioral disorders. Various research has been done in relation to social networking sites (SNS) addiction, smartphone addiction, internet addiction, Facebook addiction, etc. but very little on Instagram addiction. Instagram addiction is a type of behavioral addiction defined by an excessive concern for social media and an uncontrolled need to log on to or use social media. Escapism and time-passing, amusement, exhibitionism, socializing, and social curiosity are some reasons why people use Instagram. The aim of the research was to explore the relation and effects Instagram addiction has on procrastination; the sample consisted of 50 college students aged between 18-25 years. Standardized tests were used to measure both Instagram addiction and procrastination. Further Instagram addiction was studied under 6 factors, Lack of control, Disengagement, Escapism, Health and interpersonal troubles, Excessive use, and Obsession. The results found that procrastination is significantly positively correlated with lack of control, disengagement, and escapism. It was also found that lack of control, disengagement, and escapism are significant predictors of procrastination. Some strategies for reducing Instagram include reducing screen time, being mindful of social media usage, and engaging in other positive reinforcement activities.

The job of mental health professionals (MHPs) is essential because they aid those who are afflict... more The job of mental health professionals (MHPs) is essential because they aid those who are afflicted by mental health disorders and support them in fostering much-needed optimistic outlooks. Following Covid-19, the situation for MHPs is now one of increased work pressure as they provide tele-counseling and treatment to more and more individuals every day. The purpose of this study was to see if this increased level of stress is causing burnout syndromes in various MHPs. Standardized scales were used to measure workplace stress & burnout among MHPs. The MHPs taken into consideration were clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and counselors between the ages of 25 and 35. Results found that workplace stress is significantly and positively correlated to occupational exhaustion and depersonalization, further through linear regression it was found that workplace stress is a significant predictor of occupational exhaustion. Usage of humor, journalling, mindful meditation, taking breaks, following a regular schedule, creating healthy boundaries, having self-care measures, and being under supervision are all strategies that can help to avoid burnout.
Professionals in the mental health field frequently experience high levels of stress, which can l... more Professionals in the mental health field frequently experience high levels of stress, which can lead to burnout & the symptoms show up as emotional weariness, overload or tiredness, depersonalization, and a negative self-perception. Standardized scales were used to measure occupational commitment, burnout & workplace stress among mental health professionals. Clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and counselors within the age range 23-40 years were among the mental health professionals considered. Results found that organizational commitment is significantly positively correlated to personal accomplishment and significantly negatively correlated to workplace stress and emotional exhaustion. Strategies for reducing stress and burnout at workplace may benefit them which include being under supervision, support groups and self-care measures in addition to assistance provided by the organization.

In recent years, research on the connection between interpersonal emotion regulation and emotiona... more In recent years, research on the connection between interpersonal emotion regulation and emotional intelligence has expanded. Both ideas have significant consequences for how people perform in a range of situations. While emotional intelligence refers to the capacity to comprehend and regulate emotions in oneself and others, interpersonal emotion regulation refers to the ability to control one's own and other's emotions during social interactions. This study analyses the most recent research on the connection between emotional intelligence and interpersonal emotion regulation, concentrating on the effects these abilities have on relationships, health, and the workplace. According to the findings of the research we analysed, people with high emotional intelligence are better able to control their emotions in social situations, which leads to better outcomes for stress management, conflict resolution, and relationship satisfaction. The way in which a person can enhance their emotional intelligence and interpersonal emotion regulation is through mindfulness techniques, training in emotional awareness, cognitive behavioural training, training in emotional regulation as well as social support.
