However, there is no thorough measurement available on the impact of CSR initiatives on business performance yet, CSR is believed to have a positive relationship with a company’s goodwill and thereby have a positive impact on consumer’s behaviour. Organizations and developers worldwide saw it as an opportunity to expand their reach in various sectors. Mobile news app is also one sector, which is no less behind. The paper seeks to explore the dynamics of media convergence between legacy media and the new media industries; the transformations that they have undergone over time to keep up with the changing times and to assess the changing user reading patterns. The research draws on industry interviews with media personnel to understand the changes that the organisation has made to its corresponding news app vis-à-vis its traditional media outlet. These narratives enabled the researchers to explore the implications of the content available on the mobile news applications and their causal relationship with reading habits and consumption behaviour of users with the help of an audience survey. User behaviour such as short attention span, lack of time and constant inflow of media on the internet are few reasons cited for the spurt in news apps. It also studied the user behaviour and the reasons behind the convergence of old and new technology, which would in turn equip them to make more immersive and user friendly user interfaces in mobile apps.

Introduction Women are the unique creation of the world and constitute half of the population of the Country. A society has never progressed socially, economically, politically and culturally without the active participation of women. Still women are the most deprived and socially discriminated in the society in the name of gender and treated as sex objects and commodity. Such approaches and perceptions prevailed in the society are shown in the media from time to time. Gender and most importantly the role of women have been recognized widely as vital as important to international development issues. This means giving importance of gender-equality and ensuring equal participation of both the gender and at the same time understanding the different roles and the probability of the genders within the community. The role of media as a factor for socio-cultural transformation shaping the attitudes and behaviours of the gender towards the better development of the society, upliftment and equal recognition of the women in the society is recognized in a developing country like India. If media has at times shown women as sex objects or commodity, it has also shown women to fight back and come up with all odds. Thus, media simultaneously, portrays a multifaceted range of gender structure from its sympathetic attitude to biasness on gender issues. The paper has attempted to raise the critical questions on the role of media in educating the masses on gender issues, it has also tried to answer the reasons behind not discussing the gender issues and what is their view on gender issues and how much media has helped in the betterment of the society. Awareness of Gender issues has less attracted the scholars and it is assumed that the level of differences about gender issues may vary with the level of mass media exposure therefore, the present study was aimed to understand the patterns of mass media exposure and degree of awareness of gender issues among the postgraduate students in Silchar town of Assam, India.

Majority of the Indian women work throughout their life time but still they are the most deprived, under privileged and unconcerned folks of the house. They under go through so much of turmoil, hardships throughout the day but their health conditions is very much less concerned. This is due to lack of education and knowledge of health facilities and conditions available. The government of India in the recent budgets has given top most priority to health and education sector. Very less study has been conducted on women’s working conditions and their associated health problems which are often less diagnosed and compensated in comparison to men. Therefore, this paper is a substantial effort to examine the knowledge of the daily paid women workers about their health conditions and also is an attempt to see the awareness level among the respondents about available health facilities and schemes provided by the government. The study has determined the nature and extent of health problems of daily wage earner women and constraints faced by them in availing of the treatment facilities being provided by the government hospitals. The rationale behind selecting the Cachar district of Assam is that, it is located in the most remote part of the state. The district is hindered by very under developed transport and communication.
