An undergraduate critique of Virginia Standards of Learning as they relate to early US history, specifically pointing to the biases inherent in current practices and lessons relating to the role of Native Americans. The author's intent is to show that US history must be reframed to avoid these biases, and shares ideas to encourage K-12 public school teachers to enact change, with carefully selected documents and sociological studies.
