Extensions of the Hilbert-multi-norm in Hilbert $C^*$-modules
Abstract: Dales and Polyakov introduced a multi-norm $\left( \left\|\cdot\right\|_n^{(2,2)}:n\in\mathbb{N}\right)$ based on a Banach space $\mathscr{X}$ and showed that it is equal with the Hilbert-multi-norm $\left( \left\|\cdot\right\|_n^{\mathscr{H}}:n\in\mathbb{N}\right)$ based on an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space $\mathscr{H}$. Operator mean inequalities and Kwong functions
Abstract: In this paper, we study operator mean inequalities for the weighted arithmetic, geometric and harmonic means. We give a slight modification of Audenaert's result to show the relation between Kwong functions and operator monotone functions. Separated Pairs of Submodules in Hilbert $C^*$-modules
Abstract: We introduce the notion of the separated pair of closed submodules in the setting of Hilbert $C^*$-modules. A separation theorem for Hilbert $W^*$-modules
Abstract: Let $\mathscr L$ be a closed submodule of a Hilbert $W^*$-module $\mathscr E$ over a $C^*$-algebra $\mathscr A$. In this note, among other results, we give an affirmative answer to this problem, when $\mathscr E$ is a self-dual Hilbert $W^*$-module such that… ▽ More

An extension of orthogonality relations based on norm derivatives
Abstract: We introduce the relation $ρ_λ$-orthogonality in the setting of normed spaces as an extension of some orthogonality relations based on norm derivatives, and present some of its essential properties. Among other things, we give a characterization of inner product spaces via the functional $ρ_λ$. Moreover, we consider a class of linear mappings preserving this new kind of orthogonality. In particula… ▽ More

Approximately angle preserving mappings
Abstract: In this paper, we present some characterizations of linear mappings, which preserve vectors at a specific angle. We introduce the concept of $(\varepsilon, c)$-angle preserving mappings for $|c|<1$ and $0\leq \varepsilon < 1 + |c|$. In addition, we define $\widehat{\varepsilon}\,(T, c)$ as the ``smallest'' number $\varepsilon$ for which $T$ is $(\varepsilon, c)$-angle preserving mapping. We state… ▽ More

On majorization and range inclusion of operators on Hilbert $C^*$-modules
Abstract: It is proved that for adjointable operators $A$ and $B$ between Hilbert $C^*$-modules, certain majorization conditions are always equivalent without any assumptions on $\overline{\mathcal{R}(A^*)}$, where $A^*$ denotes the adjoint operator of $A$ and $\overline{\mathcal{R}(A^*)}$ is the norm closure of the range of $A^*$. In the case that $\overline{{\mathcal R}(A^*)}$ is not orthogonally compleme… ▽ More

Quadratic interpolation of the Heinz means
Abstract: The main goal of this article is to present several quadratic refinements and reverses of the well known Heinz inequality, for numbers and matrices, where the refining term is a quadratic function in the mean parameters. The proposed idea introduces a new approach to these inequalities, where polynomial interpolation of the Heinz function plays a major role. As a consequence, we obtain a new proof… ▽ More

Norm inequalities related to the Heron and Heinz means
Abstract: In this article, we present several inequalities treating operator means and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. In particular, we present some new comparisons between operator Heron and Heinz means, several generalizations of the difference version of the Heinz means and further refinements of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. The techniques used to accomplish these results include convexity and Löwner m… ▽ More

Etemadi and Kolmogorov inequalities in noncommutative probability spaces
Abstract: Based on a maximal inequality type result of Cuculescu, we establish some noncommutative maximal inequalities such as Hajék--Penyi inequality and Etemadi inequality. In addition, we present a noncommutative Kolmogorov type inequality by showing that if $x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_n$ are successively independent self-adjoint random variables in a noncommutative probability space $(\mathfrak{M}, τ)$ such t… ▽ More

Operator maps of Jensen-type
Abstract: Let $\mathbb{B}_J(\mathcal H)$ denote the set of self-adjoint operators acting on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ with spectra contained in an open interval $J$. A map $Φ\colon\mathbb{B}_J(\mathcal H)\to {\mathbb B}(\mathcal H)_\text{sa} $ is said to be of Jensen-type if \[ Φ(C^*AC+D^*BD)\le C^*Φ(A)C+D^*Φ(B)D \] for all $ A, B \in B_J(\mathcal H)$ and bounded linear operators $ C,D $ acting on… ▽ More

Characterizations of operator Birkhoff-James orthogonality
Abstract: In this paper, we obtain some characterizations of the (strong) Birkhoff--James orthogonality for elements of Hilbert $C^*$-modules and certain elements of $\mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})$. Moreover, we obtain a kind of Pythagorean relation for bounded linear operators. In addition, for $T\in \mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})$ we prove that if the norm attaining set $\mathbb{M}_T$ is a unit sphere of some finite d… ▽ More

Abstract: We establish a noncommutative Blackwell--Ross inequality for supermartingales under a suitable condition which generalize Khan's works to the noncommutative setting. We then employ it to deduce an Azuma-type inequality.

Relative Entropy and Tsallis Entropy of two Accretive Operators
Abstract: Let $A$ and $B$ be two accretive operators. We first introduce the weighted geometric mean of $A$ and $B$ together with some related properties. Afterwards, we define the relative entropy as well as the Tsallis entropy of $A$ and $B$. The present definitions and their related results extend those already introduced in the literature for positive invertible operators.

Abstract: In this paper, we establish some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to the system of operator equations $ BXA=B=AXB $ in the setting of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space, where the unknown operator $X$ is called the inverse of $A$ along $B$. After that, under some mild conditions we prove that an operator $X$ is a solution of $ BXA=B=AXB $ if and only if… ▽ More
