A characterization of complex Hadamard matrices appearing in families of MUB triplets
Abstract: It is shown that a normalized complex Hadamard matrix of order $6$ having three distinct columns, each containing at least one $-1$ entry necessarily belongs to the transposed Fourier family, or to the family of $2$-circulant complex Hadamard matrices. The proofs rely on solving polynomial system of equations by Gröbner basis techniques, and make use of a structure theorem concerning regular Hadam… ▽ More

A note on five dimensional kissing arrangements
Abstract: The kissing number $τ(d)$ is the maximum number of pairwise non-overlapping unit spheres each touching a central unit sphere in the $d$-dimensional Euclidean space. In this note we report on how we discovered a new, previously unknown arrangement of $40$ unit spheres in dimension $5$. Our arrangement saturates the best known lower bound on $τ(5)$, and refutes a `belief' of Cohn--Jiao--Kumar--Torqu… ▽ More

Biangular lines revisited
Abstract: Line systems passing through the origin of the $d$ dimensional Euclidean space admitting exactly two distinct angles are called biangular. It is shown that the maximum cardinality of biangular lines is at least $2(d-1)(d-2)$, and this result is sharp for $d\in\{4,5,6\}$. Connections to binary codes, few-distance sets, and association schemes are explored, along with their multiangular generalizati… ▽ More

The two-distance sets in dimension four
Abstract: A finite set of distinct vectors $\mathcal{X}$ in the $d$-dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^d$ is called a $2$-distance set, if the set of mutual distances between distinct elements of $\mathcal{X}$ has cardinality exactly $2$. In this note we classify the $2$-distance sets in $\mathbb{R}^4$ up to isometry with computer-aided methods.

Abstract: A finite set of distinct vectors $\mathcal{X}$ in the $d$-dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^d$ is called an $s$-distance set if the set of mutual distances between distinct elements of $\mathcal{X}$ has cardinality $s$. Orderly generation of Butson Hadamard matrices
Abstract: In this paper Butson-type complex Hadamard matrices $\mathrm{BH}(n,q)$ of order $n$ and complexity $q$ are classified for small parameters by computer-aided methods. Our main results include the enumeration of $\mathrm{BH}(21,3)$, $\mathrm{BH}(16,4)$, and $\mathrm{BH}(14,6)$ matrices. There are exactly $72$, 1786763, and $167776$ such matrices, up to monomial equivalence. Additionally, we show an… ▽ More

Enumeration of Seidel matrices
Abstract: In this paper Seidel matrices are studied, and their spectrum and several related algebraic properties are determined for order $n\leq 13$. Based on this Seidel matrices with exactly three distinct eigenvalues of order $n\leq 23$ are classified. One consequence of the computational results is that the maximum number of equiangular lines in $\mathbb{R}^{12}$ with common angle $1/5$ is exactly $20$.

Equiangular lines in Euclidean spaces
Abstract: We obtain several new results contributing to the theory of real equiangular line systems. All complex equiangular tight frames in dimension 3
Abstract: In this paper we describe some new algebraic features of the Gram matrices of complex Equiangular Tight Frames (ETF). This lead on the one hand to the nonexistence of several low dimensional complex ETFs; and on the other hand to the full algebraic classification of all complex ETFs in C^3. We use computer aided methods, in particular, Groebner basis computations to obtain these results.

Hadamard matrices modulo 5
Abstract: In this paper we introduce modular symmetric designs and use them to study the existence of Hadamard matrices modulo 5. We prove that there exist 5-modular Hadamard matrices of order n if and only if n != 3, 7 (mod 10) or n != 6, 11. In particular, this solves the 5-modular version of the Hadamard conjecture.

Abstract: One of the main goals of design theory is to classify, characterize and count various combinatorial objects with some prescribed properties. Rational Orthogonal versus Real Orthogonal
Abstract: The main question we raise here is the following one: given a real orthogonal n by n matrix X, is it true that there exists a rational orthogonal matrix Y having the same zero-pattern? We conjecture that this is the case and prove it for n<=5. We also consider the related problem for symmetric orthogonal matrices.

Abstract: We exhibit an infinite family of {\it triplets} of mutually unbiased bases (MUBs) in dimension 6. These triplets involve the Fourier family of Hadamard matrices, $F(a,b)$. However, in the main result of the paper we also prove that for any values of the parameters $(a,b)$, the standard basis and $F(a,b)$ {\it cannot be extended to a MUB-quartet}. The main novelty lies in the {\it method} of proo… ▽ More

In this paper, we fully classify strongly quadrangular matrices up to degree 5. We prove that the smallest strongly quadrangular matrices which… ▽ More

Parametrizing Complex Hadamard Matrices
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to introduce new parametric families of complex Hadamard matrices in two different ways. State tomography for two qubits using reduced densities
Abstract: The optimal state determination (or tomography) is studied for a composite system of two qubits when measurements can be performed on one of the qubits and interactions of the two qubits can be implemented. The goal is to minimize the number of interactions to be used. The algebraic method applied in the paper leads to an extension of the concept of mutually unbiased measurements.
