Vector-boson pair production at the LHC: Electroweak corrections in HERWIG++
Abstract: Vector-boson pair production is of great phenomenological importance at the LHC. These processes will help to validate the Standard Model at highest energies, and they may also open the door for the discovery of new physics potentially showing up in subtle modifications of the non-abelian structure of weak interactions. In this letter, we review the status of the corresponding theory predictions,… ▽ More

Electroweak Corrections at High Energies
Abstract: We present a survey of the most abundant processes at the LHC for sensitivity to electroweak corrections at \sqrt{s} = 8, 14, 33, and 100 TeV proton-proton collision energies. The processes studied are pp -> dijet, inclusive W and Z, W/Z+jets, and WW. In each case we compare the experimental uncertainty in the highest kinematic regions of interest with the relative magnitude of electroweak correct… ▽ More

Electroweak corrections to monojet production at the Tevatron and the LHC
Abstract: Single-jet production with missing transverse momentum is one of the most promising discovery channels for new physics at the LHC. In the Standard Model, Z + jet production with a Z-boson decay into neutrinos leads to this monojet signature. To improve the corresponding Standard Model predictions, we present the calculation of the full next-to-leading-order (NLO) electroweak corrections and a reca… ▽ More

Vector-boson production at the LHC: QCD and electroweak effects
Abstract: A profound understanding of vector-boson production processes is of crucial importance at the LHC. The corresponding cross sections are large, and the final states are easy to reconstruct due to the clean signatures in the leptonic decay modes. Therefore, such processes play an important role as backgrounds in a large variety of new-physics signals, and they may furthermore help to better understa… ▽ More

Electroweak corrections to W-boson hadroproduction at finite transverse momentum
Abstract: We calculate the full one-loop electroweak radiative corrections to the cross section of single W-boson inclusive hadroproduction at finite transverse momentum (p_T). This includes the O(alpha) corrections to W+j production, the O(alpha_s) corrections to W+gamma production, and the tree-level contribution from W+j photoproduction with one direct or resolved photon in the initial state. We presen… ▽ More
