Spectral clustering algorithm for the allometric extension model
Abstract: The spectral clustering algorithm is often used as a binary clustering method for unclassified data by applying the principal component analysis. To study theoretical properties of the algorithm, the assumption of conditional homoscedasticity is often supposed in existing studies. However, this assumption is restrictive and often unrealistic in practice. Therefore, in this paper, we consider the a… ▽ More

A test for counting sequences of integer-valued autoregressive models
Abstract: The integer autoregressive (INAR) model is one of the most commonly used models in nonnegative integer-valued time series analysis and is a counterpart to the traditional autoregressive model for continuous-valued time series. To guarantee the integer-valued nature, the binomial thinning operator or more generally the generalized Steutel and van Harn operator is used to define the INAR model. Howe… ▽ More

Residual spectrum: Brain functional connectivity detection beyond coherence
Abstract: Coherence is a widely used measure to assess linear relationships between time series. However, it fails to capture nonlinear dependencies. To overcome this limitation, this paper introduces the notion of residual spectral density as a higher-order extension of the squared coherence. The method is based on an orthogonal decomposition of time series regression models. We propose a test for the exis… ▽ More

A remark of the number of quasi-hereditary structures
Abstract: Dlab and Ringel showed that algebras being quasi-hereditary in all total orders for indices of primitive idempotents becomes hereditary. So, we are interested in for which orders a given quasi-hereditary algebra is again quasi-hereditary. As a matter of fact, we consider permutations of indices instead of total orders. If the standard modules defined by two permutations coincide, we say that the p… ▽ More

Intersection numbers of twisted homology and cohomology groups associated to the Riemann-Wirtinger integral
Abstract: The Riemann-Wirtinger integral is an analogue of the hypergeometric integral, which is defined as an integral on a one-dimensional complex torus. We study the intersection forms on the twisted homology and cohomology groups associated with the Riemann-Wirtinger integral. We derive explicit formulas of some intersection numbers, and apply them to study the monodromy representation, connection probl… ▽ More

Generalizations of the relationship between quasi-hereditary algebras and directed bocses
Abstract: Koenig, Külshammer and Ovsienko showed that Morita equivalence classes of quasi-hereditary algebras are in one-to-one correspondence with equivalence classes of the module categories over directed bocses. In this article, we extend this result to $Δ$-filtered algebras and $\overlineΔ$-filtered algebras.

The integrated copula spectrum
Abstract: Frequency domain methods form a ubiquitous part of the statistical toolbox for time series analysis. In recent years, considerable interest has been given to the development of new spectral methodology and tools capturing dynamics in the entire joint distributions and thus avoiding the limitations of classical, $L^2$-based spectral methods. Most of the spectral concepts proposed in that literature… ▽ More

Sparse principal component analysis for high-dimensional stationary time series
Abstract: We consider the sparse principal component analysis for high-dimensional stationary processes. The standard principal component analysis performs poorly when the dimension of the process is large. We establish the oracle inequalities for penalized principal component estimators for the processes including heavy-tailed time series. The rate of convergence of the estimators is established. Explicit construction of cofree precoalgebras and coalgebras
Abstract: In this paper, we will explicitly construct cofree coalgebras, by first constructing cofree precoalgebras (namely those not necessarily coassociative or counital). Our approach does not impose any condition to the coefficient ring, which means, for example, it does not need to be a field. The main technique is to generate homomorphisms from certain type of infinite trees so that those constitute c… ▽ More

Homology and cohomology intersection numbers of GKZ systems
Abstract: We describe the homology intersection form associated to regular holonomic GKZ systems in terms of the combinatorics of regular triangulations. Combining this result with the twisted period relation, we obtain a formula of cohomology intersection numbers in terms of a Laurent series. A Note on the Formal Groups of Weighted Delsarte Threefolds
Abstract: One-dimensional formal groups over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic are classified by their height. In the case of $K3$ surfaces, the height of their formal groups takes integer values between $1$ and $10$, or $\infty$. For Calabi-Yau threefolds, the height is bounded by $h^{1,2}+1$ if it is finite, where $h^{1,2}$ is a Hodge number. At present, there are only a limited num… ▽ More

Irreducibility of the monodromy representation of Lauricella's $F_C$
Abstract: Let $E_C$ be the hypergeometric system of differential equations satisfied by Lauricella's hypergeometric series $F_C$ of $m$ variables. We show that the monodromy representation of $E_C$ is irreducible under our assumption consisting of $2^{m+1}$ conditions for parameters. We also show that the monodromy representation is reducible if one of them is not satisfied.
