For this reason in the present study investigated the reliability of DESK 3-6 for children 3-years old of age through the use of methods such are internal consistency reliability, test-retest and Cronbach‘s alpha, as well as check its suitability on a different sample. Participants were 383 preschool children (207 boys and 176 girls) with ages ranging from 36 to 47 months. The Dortmund Developmental Screening for Preschools was used. Results revealed that the original version of DESK 3-6 for children 3-years olds of age shows problems in internal consistency, adequate Cronbach alpha and test-retest coefficients.

The deviating stereotypical and self-stimulating behaviors and the fixations are evident trait of children with autism (Heflin & Aliamo, 2007). In the last twenty years, the prevalence of autism lias grown significantly, 1 in 88 children up to 8 years displays some kind of form of autism. In comparison, the prevalence is higher in boys (1:54) than girls (1:252) (Department of Health and Human Services, 2012). A diagnosis of autism can take place between the second and the third year of life of a child (Kleimnan et al., 2008).Persons with autism usually display low levels of physical fitness (Auxter, Pyfer, & Huettig, 1997), deficits in sensorimotor development (Piek & Dyck, 2004), in gross (Emck, Bosselier, Beek, & Doreleijers, 2009) and fin...

Participants were 484 preschool children (243 boys and 241 girls) with ages ranging from 60 to 78 months. The Dortmund Developmental Screening for Preschools (TrA¶ster, Flender, & Reineke, 2004) was used. Results revealed that the original version of DESK 3-6 for children 5-6 years old of age shows problems in internal consistency, adequate Cronbach alpha and test-retest coefficients. It is concluded that the present instrument appears to carry enough data to justify its use on other samples as well.

The sample consisted of 180 hildren (60 natives, 60 Romas, 60 Roma immigrants) studying in Greek public primary schools. The Test of Gross Motor Development scores showed that the group of indigenous Greek children had significantly higher performance in terms of locomotion skills, handling skills, and general motor ability compared to the groups of Roma and Roma immigrant children. No statistically significant differences were observed between the two other groups. These findings might be attributed to less participation of minority children in organized physical activities in and outside school, as well as to the reduced parental encouragement for attending related activities.
