A time to relax and a time to be busy, a time to frolic and a time to labor, a time to receive and a time to give, a time to begin and a time to finish."-Jonathan Lockwood Huie The expression work-life balance (WLB) was first used in the middle of 1970s to describe the balance between an individual's work and personal life. The essentiality of embracing Work-Life Balance (WLB) strategies is indispensable for every class of employees. The increasing number of Dual Income Single Kid (DISK) couples and members from nuclear families at organizations has made WLB practices all the more necessary. There has been an increasing interest in WLB in the recent past for all professions and its significance is now focused by many organizations. The days are gone where WLB was restricted only to certain fields but now the situation has completely changed. People of all strata irrespective of their professions (employers, employees, professionals, home makers…) struggle hard to manage a good WLB. This study has analyzed various reviews on WLB for diverse professions (IT, Hotel, Hospital, Finance, Academics …) and given suggestions for a balanced life.

uman beings are strange creatures. Even though most of us live stress-filled lives, we voluntarily add to that stress by choosing certain activities that create more tension .A person born has to die is human law. In the process of life cycle an individual undergoes lots of challenges in meeting out the demands of the market and fulfilling his ambitions. The highest peak of human life cycle is the career or what you call the job which one is doing. While we all face stress mostly every day on the job, some people appear better equipped to handle those challenging times. Studies show that stress robs us of energy, interferes with happiness and well-being, and often leads to physical disorders. On the other hand we never feel tired or exhausted (though we do) while playing your favorite sport, shopping, watching a movie, cooking classes ,spending time in the net etc .,-the hidden factor behind this is our sub conscious state that likes all these activities. But when it comes to a job ……! It is a known fact that job stress is difficult to escape.. A wise man once said; "life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it." He was referring to the concept of attitude. If stress is causing your life to spin out of control, then change your attitude. The satisfaction we get in completion of a target or a job cannot be explained in words .Of course there is stress in a job but many are not able to locate the hidden bliss in it .Life without bliss is meaningless. Stress without bliss is hopeless. Stress adds spice to life. It is we who have to decide its quantity.

The past two years has changed the whole landscape of consumer behaviour and the so-called booming mall culture across the globe having no exception to the Indian retail scenario. The reason is a well-known and obvious one to directly attributable to the 'pandemic brouhaha'. The 'king of the market' suddenly became the 'subservient' and the malls and big retail outlets lost the very significance of their 'showcasing' to impact the impulsive buying. The present paper is an attempt to compare the pre and post-pandemic buyer behaviour and the impact on the mall culture that was rampant till 2019 attracting 100% FDI in India. Twin countervailing effects were witnessed during this imminent risk, (i) consumption for survival with bare minimum essential purchases; (ii) public was indifferent towards the glamour of the malls. These two reasons even question the financial viability (RoI per square feet) keeping in mind the real estate prices as well as the future to offset such colossal losses. Nevertheless, the giant shoppers-stops such as Reliance and

“We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.”
    David Mamet
In fast moving world people face with so many challenges, commitments, dreams, target,
work pressure, entertainment, and space for family …………the list goes on and on and
on. On the above listed things one can compromise certain things but whatever happens
food becomes an important factor to accomplish all the listed items. Life has become so
tough that some way or other we feel stressed. It is present almost everywhere and
become a part and parcel of life. Stress is a fact of life, but being stressed out is not. We
don’t always have control over what happens to us, says Allen Elkin, Ph.D., director of
the Stress Management Counseling Center in New York City, and yet, that doesn’t mean
we have to react to a difficult, challenging situation by becoming frazzled or feeling
overwhelmed or distraught. Being overly anxious is not just a mental hazard; it’s a
physical one too. The more stressed out we are the more vulnerable we are to colds, flu,
and a host of chronic or life-threatening illnesses. And the less open we are to the beauty
and pleasure of life. Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for
the body. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as
carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an
organism and assimilated by the organism's cells in an effort to produce energy, maintain
life, or stimulate growth. Civilized man does not eat all the food as it is available in
nature. He cuts, crushes, cools, processes and modifies in many ways before consuming,
adding variety to the diet. Thus the main aim of the paper is to bring out the relation
between food and stress and how food habits play a major role for stress relief.
