SERUM BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF FOUR FEATHER TYPES OF LOCAL CHICKEN IN NIGERIA. Four feather type local chicken (Normal, frizzle, naked neck and flightless) performed differently with respect to serum parameters (Cholesterol and alanine aminotransferase). It can be inferred from this study that feather altering gene is closely connected to the cholesterol levels of the birds.
This study concludes that the variation observed for serum biochemical parameters of the local chicken might be due to genetic variation, which could aid in planning breeding programs for selection of economic/desirable traits. Values gotten for flightless
