Accordingly, there is an increasing demand for translation which also means a burden on translators. With a skyrocketing amount of business and commercial-related translation tasks, the volumes of translation projects have increased to the same extent. Situated in a position where the translators are obliged to terminate the designated project in much more time-restricted schedules, new alternatives brought about by the improvement of technology have happened to be implemented into the translation field. Within this scope, machine translation (MT) and computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, regarded as the current issues in translation studies, cushion this burden of translation on translators by making the translation process automated and easier, which reveals their significant role in shaping the future of this field. It is also worth mentioning that MT has obtained this prevalence only after many challenges. This situation has created a massive shift in translation studies. However much it affects the field of translation, machine translation still has unexplained ethical issues due to its shared data policy. Each interaction with the system is stored in its database and can be reused by any other users. Considering those, this paper scrutinizes the historical evolution of machine translation as well as its discussion from the ethical aspect.

The survey model was benefited in the study. A total of 146 participants determined by criterion sampling were accessed. Data were collected and analysed through the data collection tool used in line with the purpose of the research. Regression analysis indicated that the variables procedural justice, interactional justice, public personnel selection examination score, interview score, being hired, gender, and branch have a significant relationship with distributive justice perceptions. Furthermore, the teacher selection interview method was perceived as unjust and unfair; it is subjective to influential contacts and favouritism, ignores candidates' labour and efforts by simply disqualifying most, and has poor reliability and validity structure. The most significant implication and consequential recommendation of this study is that under conditions of intense competition, in societies in which political conditions become influential, and in collectivist cultures, using interviews for teacher recruitment might be less reliable and less objective compared to other selection methods such as centralised pedagogical examinations or field test results.

The professions that keep up with this development have continued their progressive trend through new fields of application and relations with different disciplines. However, the professions that cannot keep up with developments have tended to lose their functions and popularity over time. Digital transformation is experienced in all areas of life as roomsized computers have evolved into desktops, laptops, handheld computers, and mobile phones. Therefore, many artificial intelligence systems have been developed to increase productivity, save money and raise the quality in professions. Even compared to the situation a year ago, artificial intelligence systems have been improving unpredictably, and investments are made in this field enormously. People who can keep up with these rapid changes can be more successful than others in their professions and lives. In this regard, one of the professions digitalization has affected is the translation profession. Historically, the first written translations can be traced back centuries ago when conditions were limited.
Makine Çevirisi Çıktılarının Post-Editing İşleminde Çevirmen Adayları ve Çevirmenlere Bazı Öneriler, 2022
With the development of technology, jobs once performed by a human have now been undertaken by ma... more With the development of technology, jobs once performed by a human have now been undertaken by machines with advanced software. As a result, everyday life becomes more manageable in most areas, and new working areas have appeared. Translation has also been affected by these innovations. When developing the Skopos Theory, Reiss and Vermeer (1984) defined a translator as a cultural/bilingual expert responsible for interlingual and intercultural communication. In those years when the expert identity of the translator was explained, computers were not ordinary, and translators generally worked isolated behind closed doors. Nonetheless, in the twenty-first century, the need for translation increased, and new areas of expertise in translation have become widespread. Audiovisual translation, game translation, localization, and post-editing are, for example, a few of them. Based on a descriptive approach, the study handles the concept of post-editing, a new activity a translator can undertake in a translation project, by offering some suggestions through samples to prospective and professional translators. These suggestions may be helpful in the translation of the text to be correctly received by the target audience. It is hoped that these suggestions will be beneficial in increasing the quality/clarity of translation and productivity. While the definition of post-editing is explained in detail, it is observed that the post-editing process within the translation projects might vary from translation to translation. Individual translators might obey different approaches during the post-editing of raw translations. One of the primary reasons can be that the concept of post-editing is not understood well by prospective translators. This can cause some problems when they graduate. Because translators blindly sticking to machine translation may plagiarise unconsciously in translation instead of applying to post-editing as it should be. Therefore the translator may not reflect their expertise in translation. This situation may return to making less effort in translation over time and pose an ethical problem. However, through the post-editing, the translator gives the final version to the raw output. The translator's identity should always be at the forefront, though. Because even though the translators spend less time during the translation compared to previous periods, or at least the time wasted in translation has been compensated by new technologies, the translator is an expert in knowing when and under what conditions he/she will interfere with the translation thanks to his/her professional identity. In this way, the translator can determine whether light or full post-editing is required by positioning himself/herself in the translation process and considering the text type/traditions. Then the translated text can give an impression as if it were translated following the correct post-editorial decisions. This is necessary for making the mechanical structure of the text produced by the machine humanized.

professi... more This study focuses on the concept of translation competence, which develops further with professionalization following the translation education and evolves into the concept of translator competence in practice. For this purpose, the word “competence” was first defined from different perspectives and the synonyms of the term were explained. After that, the linguistic competence, used first by Noam Chomsky, was discussed. Because one of the main components of the translation competence is the linguistic competence. At a time when classical approaches dealt with translation as a mere linguistic transfer, the linguistic competence was considered sufficient to explain the translation. And the translation activity was, therefore, regarded as a sub-branch of Applied Linguistics. But at a time when the demand for translation has been constantly growing in a globalized world, it is obvious that the phenomenon of language alone is not enough to explain translation. In order to meet economic, global, social and cultural needs of the target audience, different competences have also begun to take part under the translation performance. The most important of these is by far the cultural competence. Because the translator cannot make an adequate and acceptable levels of translation, which are Toury's initial norms, without knowing the source culture very well and by ignoring the expectations of the target culture. The concept of culture is then necessary in terms of empathy with both the source and the target reader. For example, a word can have multiple connotations other than its denotative meaning and what is expected of translation may be one of the most distant connotative meanings of the word. In this respect, it is important to recognize the culture in finding a translation equivalent. In addition, in today's approaches and in terms of the market expectations, even the cultural competence has started to be not enough to explain the translation action. Then it can be asserted that translation competence can no longer be explained only by linguistic and cultural competences. New subcompetences brought by market driven needs like the increasing necessity of the use of modern technologies in the translation process have also begun to be among the important components of the translation competence. How can a translator gain all these? First of all, in order to successfully overcome the translation process, the translator as well as gaining an expertise in the subject area, must also have a meta perspective of the translation process and internalize the theoretical infrastructure that explains the translation competence. This is also possible with a good translation education2 which is guiding and inspiring. In fact, all kinds of theoretical knowledge and components learned by prospective translators towards enhancing translation competence which is constantly supported by translation assignments throughout the translation education are put into practice more intensively after graduation, allowing the translation competence to cross existing boundaries and to turn this concept into the translator competence at the end. In this case, a translation pedagogy which can be useful in practice among existing translation theories/approaches for prospective translators should be adopted, and this pedagogy should be organized in such a way as to enable translation students to be able to create a self-guiding model of education by translation instructors. In this way, translation students can develop their translation performance. Last but not least, it is thought that this study will also be useful to show how prospective translators will make their declarative information procedural at the end.

Abstract As it is known, translations from many languages into Turkish contribute to the development of our national literature. For this purpose, the effect of translations in the formation of the national literature cannot be denied. In this study, the Turkish translations of Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities (1859), which have been translated by two different publishers into Turkish, are compared with each other to scrutinize to what extent the language, culture, literary features of the original text are transferred into the target language. In doing so, the study also analyzes translation approaches and strategies adopted by two translators in the translation process.

Some scholars however think that the use of only the concept of translation in this sense is not sufficient for the exact definition. As known, in order for the (inter lingual) translation action to take place, a bilateral relationship is always established between the source and the target text. But apart from the transfer of linguistic elements in the source text to the target setting, cultural elements are also conveyed into the target language. In connection the translator may sometimes adopt strategies such as adaptation, domestication, updating, or even generalization in the translation process rather than seeking for only direct translation. As for the use of such strategies as domestication, adaptation and so forth in the translation action, some questions may arise here: Is this action through the use of these mentioned strategies by the translator a translation or is it more than a translation? Should this action be called just a translation action, or should it be named differently because what is in the source text is transferred into the target language in a different respect by adopting above mentioned strategies? For example translator may also prefer to deviate a target text production from the source text intentionally thanks to these strategies. In this study, in the context of the hypothesis and these questions, we explain the concepts of the translator's visibility and invisibility. In the light of the invisibility principle in translation by referring to Venuti's Translator's Invisibility (1995) the concept of translation was re-discussed, the findings were supported with examples and alternative concepts were introduced to the concept of translation.

Abstract This study aims to address cultural transfers from the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens into the Turkish translation by Nihal Yeğinobalı. The original work was published worldwide in the field of children's literature. In the analysis carried out within the context of the cultural transfer, the preferences of the translator in the translation process were evaluated. In this context, some findings were made in the translated work such as cultural elements, intercultural interaction, cultural transfer and cultural translation approach. In order to disclose these findings, the cultural elements in the translated work were analyzed. Among the cultural elements studied in the translation are the addresses used in daily conversations, place names, titles, person names, state and nation names, idioms, proverbs, religious, historical and artistic elements and the preferences of the translator in similar elements during the translation process were dealt with. Her türlü edebi eserin çeviri yoluyla karşı kültüre aktarılması, erek kültürde bazen merak uyandıran, bazen duyguların evrenselliğini kanıtlayan, bazen de yaratıcılığı tetikleyen durumların meydana gelmesine yol açmaktadır.

Abstract With the recognization of the translation action as the profession both abroad and in our country, it is necessary that translators must also have some basic rights as profession experts. Although this seems a positive development at the beginning, however, translators still have important problems. In this study, we deal with the problems faced by public translators in our country and propose solutions to them. For this purpose, open ended questions were directed to eight translators and interpreters to find out the problems by including a descriptive methodology. The literature as to this topic in our country is still in a ripening process and restricted. From this perspective, we expect that our study contributes to the related literature and has a function to be able to solve the problems as soon as possible.

Anahtar Sözcükler: Müzik çevirisi, aranjman, Uykusuz Her Gece, Working Late Tonight, yabancılaştırma, yerlileştirme, işlevci çeviri kuramları.
Revolutionizing Translation Studies: Synthesizing Translation with AI and IT Innovation, 2024

As a result, many professions are undergoing profound transformations particularly with the advent of AI and IT technologies. Professions that successfully adapt to these advancements endure by incorporating innovative approaches. Conversely, ones insisting on being traditional fading into obscurity, becoming relics of the past. From this perspective, the purpose of this collective book is to explore the current state of translation and translation studies considering technological advancements and whether translation can adapt to these changes and persist as a viable profession or face a decline over time. Covering five chapters resulting from extensive research, the book also seeks to bring together academics and industry experts, bridging the gap between academia and the translation industry, and shedding light on the position of translation and translation studies. The first chapter written by international researchers and academics Nune Ayvazyan, Ester Torres Simón, and Prof. Dr. Anthony Pym delves into translation students’ trust in machine translation, focusing on post-editing and its impact on language learning. Dilruba Temuçin, a postgraduate student and researcher, explores the use of AI in localization and its advantages and disadvantages in her chapter, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Localization: Friends or Foes? Some Insights Regarding AI Utilization in Localization Practices”. In her book chapter titled “A Metalanguage Proposal for Translation Technology” Ass. Prof. Dr. Sinem Canım proposes a meta-language approach to address inconsistencies in translating foreign terms related to translation technology into Turkish. Nilüfer Aksu, a professional localization specialist in the translation industry, provides detailed insights into client-facing localization project management in her chapter “Introduction: Being a Client-Facing Localization Project Manager”. “The Translation Industry in 2024 and beyond: Navigating the AI Era” by Tolga Seçilmiş delves deep into this dynamic landscape, exploring the multifaceted implications of AI integration for translators, localization specialists, and businesses alike. Collectively, these studies make valuable contributions to the literature on the use of AI and IT technologies in translation. The findings obtained from these studies suggest that translation as a profession can endure for those who embrace technology and stay updated on contemporary developments. The chapters also underline the importance of openness to innovation and the potential emergence of new roles in translation with the integration of AI and IT technologies, which facilitate the translation process.

Proje... more An Outline on How Translation Project Management Might Be Carried Out: A Sample Translation Project by Translation&Interpreting Students at Dumlupınar University in Turkey Mehmet Cem ODACIOĞLU Abstract The translation phenomenon has been a means of meeting communication needs among people throughout history. The intensity of translation has been increasing in connection with globalization and the digitalization processes, impacting many areas of life. Accordingly, the position of translation in the development of disciplines and in understanding and recognizing cultures by one another is undeniable. Whereas translation activity was once an act that a single translator could perform, nowadays, texts on many products and services are translated into different languages to respond more quickly to the expectations of consumers and users of different languages. That is why translation has gone beyond being purely an individual activity and has become teamwork. From this point on, there are cases that the translation task has become a project on which more than one person works because different specialists must serve as team members to complete a project successfully. For example, even though having a single translator within a translation project of a website allows the words to be translated, re-positioning of the images, the presence of circumstances where the graphic design needs to be changed, re-creating the company slogans, post-editing and making the translation ready for the user, determining which segments will be translated in coded parts, etc. require various specialists such as graphic designers, post-editors, technical writers, localization engineers, coders and so forth. In this way, errors or problems that might occur during the translation project can be detected during revisions or mutual teamwork. Besides, in this way, the individual responsibility of the translator or other team members can turn into a collective responsibility, which means that the translation project is a team-based effort rather than a tiring cognitive process. To this end, the project management and translation project management concepts were described in this study. The details of a sample translation project were explained in the core section, and how the project management might be done was explained. It is thought that if the steps determined for the sample project are followed during the translation task, the translation projects can become more productive and successful instead of a tiring process. Keywords: Project, translation project, sample translation project, translation act.

It is, therefore, obvious that this activity is as old as the human history. The phenomenon of translation was at first simply seen as a mere linguistic transfer from a language into another. That is to say, it was once only approached as a linguistic process which was discussed under Applied Linguistics or it was used for a language teaching. However, with the seminal paper by American- Dutch translation scholar James Holmes entitled “The Name and Nature of Translation Studies” in 1972, the activity of translation radically changed its status into a discipline, even into an interdisciplinary field of study interacting with other disciplines such as linguistics, literature, social sciences, cultural studies and so forth. Since then, lots of approaches and translation theories have been created to explain the translation activity as a process or to facilitate that process as well as to describe the translation as a product from a scientific perspective. As a contribution to the literature within Translation Studies, this collective book, entitled Modern Approaches to Translation and Translation Studies, serves as a collection of research describing the development of this field in its journey that has not been completed yet. The book also deals with the latest developments within Translation Studies from the perspective of Turkish translation scholars as a difference. Besides, it consists of thirteen chapters with the participation of fourteen different authors who work at different universities in Turkey as academicians or who pursued or still pursue their PhD within translation studies. Among the topics examined in the book; one can read a wide range of topics from translation technologies, meta- cognitive approaches in translation, eco- translatology, translators’ employability, approaches in literary translation, feminist translation, intra- lingual translation, inter- lingual translation to understanding in translation, legal translation, multimodality, translatability/ untranslatability, and translation education etc. These discussed topics aim to raise an awareness on the current issues in the field of translation and translation studies. As a matter of fact, there are lots of research ongoing and carried out in different regions of the world apart from those of Western scholars on translation studies and translation in general. In this sense, it is thought that this book in hand will also represent a ood example for foreign scholars and readers who study within Translation Studies or are interested in this field to see contemporary approaches in Turkey. Finally, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the authors who contribute to the publication of this book with their chapters, all of which increase the readability of the book through interesting topics by enriching the relevant literature in Translation Studies from the Turkish perspective. Also special thanks to Bartin University for their support during the formation of this book. Assoc.

Research on the Applicability of Functional Translation Theories to Pseudo-Translation Abstract Pseudotranslation is a method of writing that is published as a translation though it is not a genuine translation and is performed for ideological, cultural or social reasons. In pseudotranslation it is not necessary to translate between a source and a target text because there is not a linguistic and cultural transfer between two languages but a creation of a so-called translation which is in fact a source text. According to Toury, every text which is published with the assumption that it is a translation should be called translation. At this point, a question arises: What is the position of the translation theories that are applied to facilitate the linguistic and cultural transfer between the source and the target text in pseudo-translations? In other words, if pseudo translation is a kind of translation, then does anyone have to apply translation theories in writing such texts? Or is it possible to create an exclusive pseudo translation theory? Based on these questions, this study discusses the applicability of functional translation theories to pseudotranslation by giving examples from Nihal Yeginobali's Genç Kızlar so as to make the study concrete.

In terms of this relationship between Translation Studies and these disciplines, this academic field of study has also evolved into an inter-disciplinary branch of science over time. As a result, scholars have introduced many different theories and approaches under linguistic, cultural, sociological and technological revolutions and turns within TS. The foundations of translation studies have begun to be established in this way. Upon considering overall TS literature, one can see that most of the translation theories and approaches are actually western-centered. In fact, it may be because the West is in a sense more advanced than the East in terms of scientific developments. But did only the Western approaches have an impact on the translation in terms of its gaining a scientific status? What is the position of far eastern countries like China on translation and translation studies? What is the contribution of both west and far eastern scholars to the far east in the advancement of translation studies? Have the far eastern scholars ever put forward any theories or approaches to contribute to the translation process, its function, and production, like their counterparts in the west or have they at least conducted studies in this respect? In this geography, what kind of translation problems do scholars deal with and what are the similarities and differences between East and West? Based on these questions, the study questions the place of translation studies and translation theories in the far eastern countries such as China and makes a scrutinization on how they are received in these geographies. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the emergence of new paradigms in order to support the progressive structure of translation studies in parallel with the translation needs in the far east. kuramların uygulama boyutuyla bütünleştirilmesinde bu eksiliklerden kaynaklı

professionalization following the translation education and evolves into the concept of translator
competence in practice. For this purpose, the word “competence” was first defined from different
perspectives and the synonyms of the term were explained. After that, the linguistic competence,
used first by Noam Chomsky, was discussed. Because one of the main components of the translation
competence is the linguistic competence. At a time when classical approaches dealt with translation
as a mere linguistic transfer, the linguistic competence was considered sufficient to explain the
translation. And the translation activity was, therefore, regarded as a sub-branch of Applied
Linguistics. But at a time when the demand for translation has been constantly growing in a
globalized world, it is obvious that the phenomenon of language alone is not enough to explain
translation. In order to meet economic, global, social and cultural needs of the target audience,
different competences have also begun to take part under the translation performance. The most
important of these is by far the cultural competence. Because the translator cannot make an
adequate and acceptable levels of translation, which are Toury's initial norms, without knowing the
source culture very well and by ignoring the expectations of the target culture. The concept of
culture is then necessary in terms of empathy with both the source and the target reader. For
example, a word can have multiple connotations other than its denotative meaning and what is
expected of translation may be one of the most distant connotative meanings of the word. In this
respect, it is important to recognize the culture in finding a translation equivalent. In addition, in
today's approaches and in terms of the market expectations, even the cultural competence has
started to be not enough to explain the translation action. Then it can be asserted that translation
competence can no longer be explained only by linguistic and cultural competences. New subcompetences brought by market driven needs like the increasing necessity of the use of modern
technologies in the translation process have also begun to be among the important components of
the translation competence. How can a translator gain all these? First of all, in order to successfully
overcome the translation process, the translator as well as gaining an expertise in the subject area,
must also have a meta perspective of the translation process and internalize the theoretical
infrastructure that explains the translation competence. This is also possible with a good translation
education2 which is guiding and inspiring. In fact, all kinds of theoretical knowledge and
components learned by prospective translators towards enhancing translation competence which is
constantly supported by translation assignments throughout the translation education are put into practice more intensively after graduation, allowing the translation competence to cross existing
boundaries and to turn this concept into the translator competence at the end. In this case, a
translation pedagogy which can be useful in practice among existing translation
theories/approaches for prospective translators should be adopted, and this pedagogy should be
organized in such a way as to enable translation students to be able to create a self-guiding model of
education by translation instructors. In this way, translation students can develop their translation
performance. Last but not least, it is thought that this study will also be useful to show how
prospective translators will make their declarative information procedural at the end.

significantly impacting both our daily lives and professional domains. As a
result, many professions are undergoing profound transformations particularly with the advent of AI and IT technologies. Professions that successfully
adapt to these advancements endure by incorporating innovative approaches.
Conversely, ones insisting on being traditional fading into obscurity, becoming relics of the past.
From this perspective, the purpose of this collective book is to explore
the current state of translation and translation studies considering technological advancements and whether translation can adapt to these changes
and persist as a viable profession or face a decline over time. Covering five
chapters resulting from extensive research, the book also seeks to bring together academics and industry experts, bridging the gap between academia
and the translation industry, and shedding light on the position of translation and translation studies.
The first chapter written by international researchers and academics
Nune Ayvazyan, Ester Torres Simón, and Prof. Dr. Anthony Pym delves into
translation students’ trust in machine translation, focusing on post-editing
and its impact on language learning.
Dilruba Temuçin, a postgraduate student and researcher, explores the
use of AI in localization and its advantages and disadvantages in her chapter, “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Localization: Friends or Foes? Some Insights Regarding AI Utilization in Localization Practices”.
In her book chapter titled “A Metalanguage Proposal for Translation
Technology” Ass. Prof. Dr. Sinem Canım proposes a meta-language approach to address inconsistencies in translating foreign terms related to translation
technology into Turkish.
Nilüfer Aksu, a professional localization specialist in the translation industry, provides detailed insights into client-facing localization project management in her chapter “Introduction: Being a Client-Facing Localization
Project Manager”.
“The Translation Industry in 2024 and beyond: Navigating the AI Era”
by Tolga Seçilmiş delves deep into this dynamic landscape, exploring the
multifaceted implications of AI integration for translators, localization specialists, and businesses alike.
Collectively, these studies make valuable contributions to the literature
on the use of AI and IT technologies in translation. The findings obtained
from these studies suggest that translation as a profession can endure for
those who embrace technology and stay updated on contemporary developments. The chapters also underline the importance of openness to innovation and the potential emergence of new roles in translation with the integration of AI and IT technologies, which facilitate the translation process.

Abstract
The translation phenomenon has been a means of meeting communication needs among people
throughout history. The intensity of translation has been increasing in connection with globalization and
the digitalization processes, impacting many areas of life. Accordingly, the position of translation in the
development of disciplines and in understanding and recognizing cultures by one another is undeniable.
Whereas translation activity was once an act that a single translator could perform, nowadays, texts
on many products and services are translated into different languages to respond more quickly to the
expectations of consumers and users of different languages. That is why translation has gone beyond
being purely an individual activity and has become teamwork. From this point on, there are cases that the
translation task has become a project on which more than one person works because different specialists
must serve as team members to complete a project successfully. For example, even though having a
single translator within a translation project of a website allows the words to be translated, re-positioning
of the images, the presence of circumstances where the graphic design needs to be changed, re-creating
the company slogans, post-editing and making the translation ready for the user, determining which
segments will be translated in coded parts, etc. require various specialists such as graphic designers,
post-editors, technical writers, localization engineers, coders and so forth. In this way, errors or problems
that might occur during the translation project can be detected during revisions or mutual teamwork.
Besides, in this way, the individual responsibility of the translator or other team members can turn into
a collective responsibility, which means that the translation project is a team-based effort rather than
a tiring cognitive process. To this end, the project management and translation project management
concepts were described in this study. The details of a sample translation project were explained in the
core section, and how the project management might be done was explained. It is thought that if the steps
determined for the sample project are followed during the translation task, the translation projects can
become more productive and successful instead of a tiring process.

regions of the world. It is, therefore, obvious that this activity is as old
as the human history. The phenomenon of translation was at first simply seen
as a mere linguistic transfer from a language into another. That is to say, it
was once only approached as a linguistic process which was discussed under
Applied Linguistics or it was used for a language teaching. However, with the
seminal paper by American- Dutch translation scholar James Holmes entitled
“The Name and Nature of Translation Studies” in 1972, the activity of translation
radically changed its status into a discipline, even into an interdisciplinary
field of study interacting with other disciplines such as linguistics, literature,
social sciences, cultural studies and so forth. Since then, lots of approaches and
translation theories have been created to explain the translation activity as a
process or to facilitate that process as well as to describe the translation as a
product from a scientific perspective.
As a contribution to the literature within Translation Studies, this collective
book, entitled Modern Approaches to Translation and Translation Studies,
serves as a collection of research describing the development of this field in its
journey that has not been completed yet. The book also deals with the latest
developments within Translation Studies from the perspective of Turkish
translation scholars as a difference.
Besides, it consists of thirteen chapters with the participation of fourteen
different authors who work at different universities in Turkey as academicians
or who pursued or still pursue their PhD within translation studies. Among the
topics examined in the book; one can read a wide range of topics from translation
technologies, meta- cognitive approaches in translation, eco- translatology,
translators’ employability, approaches in literary translation, feminist translation,
intra- lingual translation, inter- lingual translation to understanding in
translation, legal translation, multimodality, translatability/ untranslatability,
and translation education etc. These discussed topics aim to raise an awareness
on the current issues in the field of translation and translation studies.
As a matter of fact, there are lots of research ongoing and carried out in different
regions of the world apart from those of Western scholars on translation
studies and translation in general. In this sense, it is thought that this book in
hand will also represent a ood example for foreign scholars and readers who study within Translation Studies or are interested in this field to see contemporary
approaches in Turkey.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the authors who contribute
to the publication of this book with their chapters, all of which increase
the readability of the book through interesting topics by enriching the relevant
literature in Translation Studies from the Turkish perspective.
Also special thanks to Bartin University for their support during the formation
of this book.
