This report demonstrates a social media advertising strategy for Carter Capital Management. It also describes the functionality of advertising with social media websites and why it is so important for a business to be also present on a social media platform.
In case of Carter Capital Management, the analysis of the current Internet presentation and marketing strategy of the business has shown, that Google+, as social media platform together with Google’s network advertising platform, will better fit into the culture of the company and will bring the most return on investment (ROI).
Erik Qualman an American author, stated in his book called Socialnomics, that “Social media is the biggest shift since the industrial revolution” and “We don’t have a choice on whether we do social media, the question is how well we do it”. He also says, that a company that does not join social networking in near future will have trouble to survive the next 10 years.
Social media is so important for a company, because 96% of Millennials have already joined a social network and the old way of advertising is no longer working like it used to do. A study has shown that 86% of viewers do not trust traditional advertising any longer and only 18% of traditional TV campaigns generate a positive ROI. The customer shift is towards the Internet. Most people trust consumer recommendations or their friends for making decisions. 81% seek advice relating to a service or product from friends and followers through a social site.

This report illustrates the forecasting process at Deckers as outlined in the forecasting and supply chain management at deckers case study. Deckers carries 3 different categories of products, such as carry over items from previous sales periods, new items that are similar to previous products and items that are of completely new design. Overall, this report investigates how Deckers is forecasting demand for these products and how Deckers establishes its supply chain and sales around these forecasts. Firstly, the report investigates how a typical forecasting process at Deckers looks like. However, it quickly becomes clear that there is no one single standard forecasting approach for each of these products, which is mainly due to the availability of historical sales data and the very seasonal character that most of Deckers products have. Products that are of new design usually have no historical data available that could be used to predict future demand. Hence, best guess judgments by experts are required, which often take market information or trends into consideration. A very reliable indicator is usually pre-ordered sales volumes from existing customers.
As the forecasting process outlined above can become very complex, especially since data needs to be integrated from different departments such as the sales department, inventory and warehouse department, marketing, market research as well as controlling and management, this report investigates how technology can contribute and support deckers.

It is often claimed that if determinism is true then we cannot have free will. Explain the supposed problem. Assuming that Determinism is true, describe and critically analyse some of the responses that defenders of Free Will could make to this claim.

Do we have free will? Or is each of our decisions determined? This is certainly one of the most famous questions of philosophy. Unfortunately there is always a problem in discussions about this topic and people might have different views about it.

Popper proposed falsificationism as a solution to the problem of induction. What was that problem and how does falsificationism purport to solve it? Is it a plausible solution?

Falsificationism, sometimes called critical empiricism is a branch of the critical rationalism in philosophy of science. It was originally advanced by Karl R. Popper, an Austrian-British philosopher and philosopher of science and is a further development of two fundamental problems in epistemology, which he describes in his main work “The Logic of Scientific Discovery (1959)”. One of the two problems is the so-called “Hume’s problem of induction”, the question of the validity or the grounds of the general propositions of empirical science, especially the laws of nature. Although the problem of induction was formulated in empiricism, it is a problem of all philosophies or sciences that permit inductive inferences as proof procedures. It is a modern variant of nominalism, which denies the reasonable orders of rationalism, but also based on measurements generalizations of science, an observer-independent reality.

Supply Chain Management describes the planning and managing tasks from the starting point of a product to the end consumer. These tasks include choosing the right suppliers, managing the logistics and coordinating all partners that are included in the supply chain.
Supply Chain Management is a method that goes far outside the boundaries of a single company. Different companies build together a network of resources they deliver to each other. From the supplier to the distributor to the end customer we can look at this network as a long chain. Everybody in this network performs a task in that chain so that in the end the customer gets the product he wants. The integration and coordination of all performers in the supply chain is a difficult task, which is done by the Supply Chain Management.

This essay reflects on the presentation held by Jonny Lee which was broadcasted by Ted-talk on April 2008. Lee is a modern age inventor who focusses his research and designs on the modification and simplification of applications and technologies. This particular presentation furthermore explains how to use a simple Wii remote controller together with a projector or screen to build up an interactive screen or even to simulate a 3-Dimensional (3D) feeling on a flat display.

Since humanity exists on earth people have always believed that there is a greater “good” in our world. Someone that created this world, someone that made humans the way we are today. Often people refer in this case to God as the “world maker“ and the father of all human beings. But the image of God as our greater “good” always suffered from the question why God allows evil in the world. People must ask themselves why has God created pain and fear and not only love? Why is God not doing something about suffering, hunger, murder and cruelty? Why does God let evil things like earthquakes, volcanoes, floods and tsunamis happen? Why has God not created heaven on earth?
