How do Muslims view the environmental situation? What options do they offer for developing concepts of sustainability in mosque communities? How do they promote environmental awareness in their different structures? How do they move in the area of conflict between sustainability and economic efficiency, between individual and collective interests, between powerlessness and activism? The international conference will present concepts and discursive approaches of different Islamic perspectives on climate justice. It will present the results of a regional study on sustainability in mosque communities and on fears for the future in the context of the environmental crisis.
