Il presente articolo è stato tratto dalla mia tesi di laurea magistrale (giugno 2012): “Proposta ... more Il presente articolo è stato tratto dalla mia tesi di laurea magistrale (giugno 2012): “Proposta di edizione critica del canzoniere di Johan Servando”, che si ascrive al progetto di restauro della tradizione lirica gallego-portoghese attraverso la produzione di monografie dedicate ai singoli trovatori. In questo studio si analizzano i canti di pellegrinaggio composti da Johan Servando (giullare, seconda metà sec. XIII), che formano il più voluminoso ciclo di cantigas de romaría dell’intera tradizione, sotto tre punti di vista: il tentativo di ricostruzione di una trama interna che dia senso al ciclo; il confronto con altre cantigas de romaría della tradizione; un esperimento di analisi delle voci liriche con moderne teorie di critica letteraria.

He wrote an impressive number of philosophical, political and devotional works. He studied at the University of Paris and taught in several provincial studia in France and in Italy.
The authors of the Late Middle Ages had two main ways to tell the Passion: in form of “meditations” or in form of “narrative representations”. Meyronnes’ Tractatus de Passione Domini belongs to this second typology, which allows the author to invent dialogues or to describe characters’ emotions and thoughts and to offer sometimes also his own point of view to the reader. Moreover, his work is probably the first example of this textual typology.
