Study on the Operating efficiency of Listed Exhibition Companies in China Based on Super-SBM model

Published: 26 March 2024 Publication History

Abstract

As a foundational component of the exhibition industry, the exhibition company serves as the primary carrier of the industry. The operating efficiency of these companies has a direct impact on the overall development of the exhibition industry. This study focuses on 15 listed exhibition companies in China, using Super-SBM model of DEA and Malmquist index model to analyze their operating efficiencies from 2016 to 2020. The findings reveal the following:(1)The companies demonstrate good operating efficiency and stable development, with an average operating efficiency greater than 1 in each year.(2) There is a clear stratification among the companies, with development trend differences. Only one company has an operating efficiency value much greater than 2, making it a super high-efficiency company. 11 companies are classified as efficient enterprises, while 3 companies are considered inefficient enterprises. From a development trend, the listed exhibition companies show four development states: stable development, fluctuating development, overall rise, and continuous decline.(3)The average TFP of Chinese listed exhibition companies is <1, indicating a decrease in overall operating efficiency, with an average decline of 13%. The main inhibitory factor for the reduction of operating efficiency is TECHCH (The value is <1),while the EFFCH value is> 1, which has partially mitigated the decline in operating efficiency among listed exhibition companies.
