Ribiers (French pronunciation: [ʁibje]) is a former commune in the Hautes-Alpes department in southeastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Val Buëch-Méouge.[2]

[edit]Ribiers has a warm-summer mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csb). The average annual temperature in Ribiers is 11.7 °C (53.1 °F). The average annual rainfall is 913.5 mm (35.96 in) with October as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in July, at around 21.6 °C (70.9 °F), and lowest in January, at around 2.1 °C (35.8 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Ribiers was 40.9 °C (105.6 °F) on 28 June 2019; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −15.4 °C (4.3 °F) on 12 January 1987.
