Deletion of entry - there was no red link and I could not find the deletion in the deletion log

We did not post the original entry which was posted year ago, probably a reader of our books. Since the time of that posting, our careers have evolved, particularly with the morphing of the publishing industry into the digital age, and I made it a practice to update the stub, based on the statement "You can help Wikipedia by expanding it". If I expanded it too much, burdening you as the editor, I apologize. I do ask you to keep in mind that no adjectives or hype was injected.

Here is the original entry submitted by someone else; we no longer own the WorkingFromHome website and there is a misspelling in the Pine Mountain Institute domain name.

Paul and Sarah Edwards From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Paul and Sarah Edwards are writers and speakers on the field of self-employment. They also operate an institute called the Pine Mountain Institute. Sarah Edwards, who had previously worked for the federal Head Start program, began working at home after being advised by a doctor to change her lifestyle while suffering a stress-related illness. She attended the University of Kansas, earning a Master of Social Work degree and establishing a private practice. Meanwhile, Paul Edwards, an attorney, began working at home after becoming disillusioned with the commute to his office. They then began researching the burgeoning work-at-home movement. After moving to California, they operated a self-employment forum on CompuServe. They moved to writing books including Working from Home, Making Money With Your Computer at Home, and The Best Home Businesses You Can Buy. They also appeared in magazines, radio, and television. They opened the Pine Mountain Institute in 1999. Sarah Edwards also completed her first novel Sitting With the Enemy. [edit] Sources

Paul Edwards for Paul and Sarah EdwardsPaulofMCAI (talk) 07:55, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

It would help if I knew what you are talking about. I take it you are asking for reinstatement of a deleted article. Unfortunately I've no idea what the article was, it's name or when or why it was deleted. Without a redlink or the exact name of the article I can't help you. Please understand that there are literally thousands of deletions a week. This makes it impossible to find without specific information. -- Alexf(talk) 11:22, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Took a chance and did some search with "WorkingfFromHome" as name, no luck. Then I tried "Paul and Sarah Edwards" and found it, basically by doing what you should have done, as you knew the article's name. Go to my user page and click on "Deletions" then you'll find the list. Using your browser's Search function and going back a ways you can find the article as having been deleted (there's your redlink - all that was needed), on March 10, 2010. Thats almost a month ago, a long time in WP's activity logs. In any case, I reviewed the deletion. It was done as ‎"G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion". The article tells about yourselves (already a conflict of interest), posted from a joint account (also a violation of the Username policy), without any references whatsoever. A clear case. You'll have to do more to convince me (or any other admin) for a review. -- Alexf(talk) 11:36, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Spanish assistance needed?

Hi. There's a listing at ANI that would benefit from fluency in Spanish...which I don't have. :) Nobody seems to be picking it up, so I thought I'd perhaps stop by and see if you could help out. It's at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Isabela Moreno. Of course, there's always the possibility that somebody else will take it on who does speak Spanish, but in case not I figured I'd ask if you had time. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:24, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Warned user in Spanish. Politely told her her actions will be welcome in Spanish WP, but here it will have to stop or else she will be blocked. -- Alexf(talk) 23:01, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

-- Alexf(talk) 00:31, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Could you check to see if the Jonathan Borrero article is significantly better now than it was when you deleted it? I saw it because it's on my watchlist but I have no recollection of what it was like before or even how I found it. Thanks. Soap 11:45, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Financial Hub Korea

Hi Alex,

The article on Financial Hub Korea is not an ambiguous advertizement. It is factual information on a government agency in Korea that overseas the development of the financial industry in Korea.

It is similar in function and form with the agency Invest Hong Kong (please see wikipedia for Invest Hong Kong).

Again, Financial Hub Korea is NOT a private, commercial entity. It IS a PUBLIC, GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED AGENCY under the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea (equivalent to the U.S. SEC.)

Please kindly help me in restoring the deleted article. Thank you very much!!

Fnhubkorea (talk) 04:10, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

The article read like and advertising, and it was removed because of it (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion). Furthermore the article did not assert notability. Even though it may be a free service from a government agency, as you say, it still need to show notability. Lastly you seem to have a serious conflict of interest in this case, due to your name which seems to be in violation of our username rules. I would appreciate you explain why this is not the case, after reading such rules, as the account may have to be blocked as an unacceptable user name. Please understand we have to follow the rules. After reading them (see the links provided) I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. In the future, please create a new section for new items in Talk, instead of just blindly attaching to a previous - unrelated - section as you did here. Also, please be so kind and provide a redlink as requested at the top of the edit page. We are here to follow the rules, but also to help you. You have to do your part and help us by following the rules and guidelines. -- Alexf(talk) 12:28, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Deleted Page Mindtime Backup

Hi Alex,

I created a page for the online backup provider Mindtime Backup. I saw a list of online backup providers and Mindtime Backup wasn't mentioned in that list. And all(!) of the other backup companies have their own Wikipedia page. So I thought it would be nice for Mindtime Backup to have their own page to, but it was deleted.

I was wondering why it was deleted. The tag said it was because it was a company. Fair enough, that's true. But as said, all the other companies do have their own page. So I don't understand why the page of Mindtime Backup was deleted?

I hope you can help me. Mindtime Backup is a serious backup provider from Europe and I think it will add valuable information to Wikipedia.

With kind regards,

Maarten —Preceding unsigned comment added by MTuin (talkcontribs) 09:45, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

The deletion was done not because it is a company or product but because it did not assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 12:28, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Zoo Miami

The name change was all over the news and has been reported in many of the major area newspapers. It's not a secret. Here's one citation for example: http://cbs4.com/local/Miami.Metrozoo.Zoo.2.1614402.html. Cheers! --Comayagua99 (talk) 15:11, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

When I checked it didn't show at their website (still doesn't). Checking more news I see the name change will be effective on its 30th anniversary on July 4. Shouldn't we wait to move the page? We should if it is in the future. A mention of this fact and date in the article, properly referenced, would be fine. See: NBC. -- Alexf(talk) 15:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

unrelated note

Following is an updating of the original entry that was deleted:

Paul and Sarah Edwards have written extensively on the field of self-employment. They also operate Let’s Live Local, a non-profit organization.

They moved to writing books including Working from Home, Getting Business to Come to You, Home-Based-Business for Dummies, and Secrets of Self-Employment. They also have appeared in magazines and on radio and television.

Sarah opened the Pine Mountain Institute in 1999 from through which she provides counseling. In 2006, they were named "Small Business Journalists of the Year" by the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Region IX.

What, may I ask does this have to do with the previous subject? I asked you before to please start a new section for new, unrelated items, yet you append text after someone else's subject, and then it's for me to clean up the formatting. You could easily have responded to your previous comment above ion 5 April on this very same page. It also seems you do not understand that Talk space is for messaging users, not for writing articles. This is the second time you start writing an article in my Talk page. Please don't. If you have an article to write and the subject is notable, and not advertising, then by all means write it in article space, not on somebody's talk page. The references also go into the article. There's no use telling me about it. Sorry to sound annoyed but after the second time, it starts to get old. I do not know why you keep writing it here. Thank you for your attention. -- Alexf(talk) 23:51, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello

Hello. You've blocked 78.101.182.192 last time for 72 hours, but only for account creation. Could you please block him (from editing) for eg. 2 weeks? He permanently vandalizes articles about airports, TV shows and TV channels. Kubek15 write/sign 14:09, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Can't. It's an IP Address. We don't know for sure it's the same guy using it all the time (it may or may not be). If they continue, the blocks will get longer as is customary. Please monitor them and report to AIV if they break policy.

Alexf, what is the problem?

Alexf, you sent me an irate message for posting a link on Aconcagua.

We are an informational website. We know Wikipedia employs nofollow. But we're not after search rank. We're providing a free, non-commercial, unprofitable resource to people interested in Aconcagua. If Wikipedia isn't suitable for that type of content, then I think you better let everyone else know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daretodiscover (talkcontribs) 17:15, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Simply, you have to understand Wikipedia is not a means of promotion, being commercial or not, does not matter. Also you have just acknowledged a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a place for advertising your site. If you want to understand how to contribute, please read the fundamentals of Wikipedia. If you continue to add advertising links you will be blocked. Also please read about our username policy as it seems your user name may also be against policy as a group/promotional name. Please read the linked pages before we discuss any further (this should cover your "if not suitable, please let everyone know" comment). Thank you for your attention. -- Alexf(talk) 17:23, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

No sorry. Being a Jewish atheist, I may have a biased opinion and/or be too close to the issue. You may or may not have noticed that even though I have written several articles (over 150, and edited/collaborated on thousands more), I have never contributed to this subject other than to combat vandalism. That is by design, to maintain NPOV. I also do not work as, or have experience as a mediator. I would not be your best choice. Thanks for asking though. -- Alexf(talk) 22:29, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

My brother is playing a gig this Thursday at some entity known as Jah Levi's Mansion, in Fairfax, CA. I was hoping to find out more about this entity but you deleted the page. Why?

It took a while to find as this was done way back in December '09, that is thousands of deletions ago. It would have been much faster and easier to do the search for you, if you provided a redlink as requested at the top of the edit page. In short, there was no article (no content), but a redirection that was deemed implausible at the time. The edit summary said it all as it explained it was an R3, implausible redirect case. If you have more information about this person, with RS|reliable sources, you can create an article. Please remember to sign your posts in Talk as is customary. -- Alexf(talk) 18:44, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello. You're one of the best antidotes to the poison known as vandalism around here. I see [1] as likely a teen who periodically makes some nasty edits. He's been warned. That may be but the proper place to report is AIV where you can get faster service as any admin on duty will work on it. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 02:22, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of my entry

Hi Alex,

I hope all is good.

I am wondering why some of my entries for King's College London, mostly in Feb 2010, were deleted.

I entered a list of Ambassadors that were Alumni of KCL and some Counsels of FTSE 100/Forbes 500 firms and some were deleted.

It will be nice to know what criteria was employed to judge if an Ambassador was worthy of being on the list especially if the Alumni list of Georgetown is full of "Assistant Secretaries" of US rather than "Secretaries". One would have thought if "Assistant Secretaries" are worthy of being on alumni lists then Ambassadors are also worthy. For example, how come an Assistant secretary is worthy but a man like Maurice Baker is not:

"Maurice Baker is an academic and one of Singapore's first-generation diplomats. He was Singapore's ambassador to India, Nepal, Malaysia and the Philippines. Baker left for King's College, London in 1948 with a Queen's scholarship and graduated with honours in English. "

I also don't understand why the list of Lead Counsels of the firms were also deleted. I can understand Wiki's notability principles, but the roles (Ambassador and Lead Counsels of FTSE 100/Forbes 500 firms) are notable and since I am only including them in a list, not trying to create a page for the individual, I would have thought it was a valid entry.

Regards

Flavourbooks (talk) 09:17, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't know. I don't recall ever looking at that article (you did not provide a link so I'm not even sure I am talking about the same article you are). Did I ever edited the article you mentioned? I don't think so but I could be wrong. Could you show me a diff? If I did edit and don't recall, a diff will help me give you an answer. If I didn't, then you should be asking publicly in the Talk page for the article. You get more exposure and responses that way. -- Alexf(talk) 12:19, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi alex,

I, in Feb, created a sub-section titled "Diplomats" (Section 1.8 under Politics and Government) in the KCL Alumni page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_King%27s_College_London_alumni

And added:

Dianna Melrose studied French and Spanish at King’s and graduated in 1973, she is currently H.M Ambassador to Cuba.

Ambassador Rocca has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from King's College London, University of London, Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs, Permanent Representative of the United States to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva

Kirsten Rosenvold Geelan, Denmark’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 1986 Law studies, King’s College, London.

Dr Peter Hayes will talk about his work as a High Commissioner for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Maurice Baker is an academic and one of Singapore's first-generation diplomats. He was Singapore's ambassador to India, Nepal, Malaysia and the Philippines. Baker left for King's College, London in 1948 with a Queen's scholarship and graduated with honours in English.

Sir Francis Floud, He was educated at Cranleigh School and King's College, London, and in 1909, High Commissioner in Canada (1934-1938)

Note: I only added the names and positions in the format of the Alumni page, not the whole writeup above.

For some reason it was all deleted. I have to admit I am not the best in using the wiki tools so I can't identify who did, so I contacted you since you were the supermoderator that sent me a warning (lol) for modifying Dani Alves' height.

Can you help with identifying who and why the subsection and the list of Lead counsels where removed?

Flavourbooks (talk) 13:28, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Not really. I am not involved with the article or even the subject. It is out of my area of expertise. You should ask in the article's talk page. A user's talk page is not the place to wrtie lengthy article-related text. Sorry. -- Alexf(talk) 18:38, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello Alexf. I saw you blocked China Gourmet Map because you said it was a Spam username. Are sure about that? Deletion of Article "Oleo Strut"

Dear Alexf,

The article for "Oleo Strut," an important coffee shop in the Vietnam war resistance movement was deleted for G12 "ambiguous copyright infringement" of someone's Myspace page. (see Oleo_Strut_(restaurant)) Need I say more? Making a myspace page after something else does not give the person the right to any copyright over that previosuly existing thing. This seems like such a bad pick-up by the auto-scan software being used, it makes me wonder if such software shouldn't be really changed.

Well in short, you shold restore the page.

82.171.237.25 (talk) 00:10, 11 May 2010 (UTC)Robfenix

I reread the article and the refer3enced page. The text was lifted verbatim from that page. That is a copyvio and any software will flag it as such. That is enough not to restore the page so I have to decline your request. I do not know who came first, (e.g if the page was lifted from here instead of the other way). Maybe you should consider a re-write, not using pre-existing text to avoid this problem? Or you could ask the original page owner in myspace to donate it? Just a thought. -- Alexf(talk) 00:29, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Request for a copy of Chaos divine

Hi there,

I think i understand why the page I had started has been deleted.

I had started it last night, and did not include any information to reviews/accolades that have been awarded except for a couple of wiki pages that exist, namely West_Australian_Music_Industry_Awards and WAM_Song_of_the_Year. If I add reviews and references posted by reputable sources will that suffice a wiki?

In the meantime, can I please, please, please have a copy of what was there... it took me ages to get all of the markup right.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Kris
Bigkrismaster (talk) 03:58, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

The wiki Australian heavy metal also refers to the band Chaos Divine. So therefore, does that not make the band meet the criterion of getting a wiki (three references just within wikipedia)? How many more do you need?

Notability for bands is detailed at WP:BAND. That's what you have to follow. Being mentioned in another WP article does not confer any notability whatsoever. Every article has to live by itself. BTW, you seem to be mistaken on the meaning of Wiki. It is a type of software (Wikipedia is just one of the many thousands wikis around). hat you meant was :Wikipedia article (or encyclopeida article). -- Alexf(talk) 16:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
The article has been userfied at: User:Bigkrismaster/Chaos Divine. Good luck. - Alexf(talk) 16:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of Business Architects Association page

Hi Alex,

You deleted the wiki page for Business Architects Association (BAA). BAA is a not for profit organization and i am on there Board. I am trying to help by creating our Page. I tried to model it on the lines of other association like PMI(Project management Institute). There is no copyright violation here as i was given permission my Board of Directors of BAA to create this page.

Thanks, Mueed.

Link: Business_architects_association —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mueedinfo (talkcontribs)

There is a copyvio as the text is not on the public domain. If you work for the place and own the text (as stated in your message) you are admitting to a conflict of interest which is frowned upon in Wikipedia. Your message also hints at advertising purposes when you say: "I am trying to help by creating our Page.". . Is the organization notable? Please read the link to see if it is within our rules. Lastly read this if you want to donate copyrighted materials. -- Alexf(talk) 16:30, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Alex,

This is a not for profit and all Board members including me are volunteers, so i am not really employed by them, so I don’t think this is conflict of interest. Secondly when companies like 'PMI', 'IIBA' have there pages on Wiki why cant there a page for BAA and why does our page get deleted? Is this not unfair?

Thanks, Mueed.

Thanks, Mueed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.176.151.10 (talk) 14:52, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Unfair? No, just rules. Every article has to have its own merits and provide reliable sources for their own notability. Just because other pages exist is not a reason. I do not know the other articles you mention but if they are not properly sourced they need to and may be slated for deletion too if needed. -- Alexf(talk) 15:00, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Benten Films

Hi Alexf,

Seems an article I started early yesterday called Benten Films (about the DVD label of the name) was speedy-deleted. I think it was probably the first time I've written on a company, so I guess I didn't know the notability guidelines on the subject well enough, but having looked over them, I think it certainly meets notability (there has been significant secondary source coverage, plus Wikipedia has articles on the films the company distributes) -- however, I should've done a better job of establishing it in the first place (my plan was to return to the article when I had the time). Any chance the article can be restored so I can improve it?

Thanks in advance, --Granddukesfinances (talk) 05:51, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Article has been userfied to: User:Granddukesfinances/Benten Films for you to work on. Please read the notability rules. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 16:33, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Much thanks. This is my first time fixing an article via my user pages -- should I get back to you when I'm done? --Granddukesfinances (talk) 01:07, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
No. What you can do when ready is move it to main space. Or just copy and paste into a new mainspace article if you prefer. Then you can place a {{db-u1}} tag on the copy in your user space if you want it deleted and a passing admin will do it for you. -- Alexf(talk) 01:56, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Understood. Thanks again for the move, and thanks for taking time to answer my questions. Best,--Granddukesfinances (talk) 06:40, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

Rex Duncombe

My name is Rex Duncombe and it seems to you drop me in the rubbish bin. I am told a local group did a item on life with computers here in Australia and added it to Wikipedia and sent it to me via email. All the details they have written are true in every way. They asked me to write to you in the hope that it can be restored. I have just read the reason you delete an item but fail to see the reason why.

Thank you for your time Rex Duncombe

The reason was clearly explained in the editor's submittal for Speedy Deletion and the subsequent deletion as A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject. There is also a standard rule for notability of people that has to be met and wasn't. The small article did not reach the bar, not having shown any reliable sources to assert notability. Mind you, this does not say the subject is not notable or important, just that it has not been shown. To wit, I personally am known in my profession, and have written several articles to technical magazines, so I could show some sources to see that I am a published author. Does this make me notable enough to warrant an article in an encyclopedia? Not at all! Apart from all that the article on you, was written by a family member (Kylie according to the article). This is a serious conflict of interest. If you are notable, somebody (other than family and friends) will write an article about you, and source it properly. -- Alexf(talk) 12:24, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

I need editing help

Hi, i am not a very experienced user of wikiMarkup, and i am the alternate account of the User:DaGovner. i need help on one of my scheduled articles to work on, and it is called Caddo Lake State Park. the first refrence needs to be changed from the URL that is on there to the Wiki article Caddo Lake.

Thanks---JoshBpwns (talk) 01:56, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Done. You may want to read Help:Wiki markup. -- Alexf(talk) 02:35, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

speedy

I think you just speedied under A7 the article on Evangelische Theologische Academie (ETA) under criterion A7, no assertion of notability. However, it appears to be a school, and schools are not eligible under that criterion. Please restore, and if you choose, send it to AFD (not prod, for I shall contest it) I know I could undelete it myself, but I prefer to ask first. DGG ( talk ) 16:48, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

You're correct. Missed the "Academie" part. Restored. -- Alexf(talk) 17:14, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Deleated Article

Dear People,

I have posted an article, which has been deleated. I read all your notes, and still do not understand why you took it out. The page intent was to create more consciousness and inform people about something that has been in the shadow for so many years, due to the different religions, and that is now reestablishing itself. If the hard work of over 30 years of committed people, is for you not eligible and creating enough credentiality for being published, then I do not know what to say, maybe just that I am disappointed. Divine Creation High Priest~esses have been existing for eons, though almost nothing is known about them. Are you not the right channel to explore this further? Should I write further in the High Priestess - Tarot cards? does this make any sense to you? to me not. We are talking here of reality and people committed to serve humanity in a very humble way, it is not part of mithology or card readings. The website linked is also created by me, also again to create more consciousness. Please help me to understand how to bring it forth through your channel. Regards, Vanessa Hartflames 196.210.204.19 (talk) 15:23, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

It was deleted as a copyright violation and we can't have that. If the subject is notable and you have reliable sources it should be possible to write without violating legal copyrights. -- Alexf(talk) 15:33, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for your quick attention deleting Venus callipygis. That article was the result of an embarrasing error; I am pleased to see that you corrected it so soon. Rwflammang (talk) 15:27, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Historical companies with significant inventions which save lives should be included in Wikipedia

Hi there, I recently posted an article on ExtremeBeam, the inventors of the modular tactical molle system for firefighters and military vets. I personally use one of these in service. here is the deleted link ExtremeBeam. Why did you delete this? I can see that you likely have no military experience or don't have any idea about what the historic value of the molle lighting system and how many lives were saved by it as it kept soldier free from the line of fire during around the corner illumination. The modular molle system has made the molle available to the foot soldier and firefighter and who know how many people around the world which have benefited from this recent design.

The size of the traditional molle and the low power of later versions made them relatively useless. The modular design allowed the units to be carried by infantry. This is perhaps one of the most significant inventions in the lighting industry that we in the military world almost exclusively have access to.. I have seen many corporate names like Mossberg and others listed for the significant inventions in guns. Why would we not list significant inventions in lighting.

Here is what Wikipedia has on Mossberg "O.F. Mossberg & Sons is an American firearms manufacturer, specializing in shotguns, scopes and firearm accessories.[4][2][3] From the 1940s through the 1960s, it also produced a line of .22 caliber target and sporting rifles.[5] Oscar Frederick Mossberg, a native of Sweden, came to the United States in 1886. He worked in the bicycle plant of Iver Johnson, a native of Norway who became became famous for his revolver. Together with his two sons Iver and Harold, O.F. Mossberg founded O.F. Mossberg and Sons in 1919.[6]"

Let's not imagine that newer historic inventions should be neglected by literary self appointed analysts who may not have experience in significant changes taking place in the world. Here is what I would like to add. If you feel it is inappropriate, please advise.

Excuse me? personal attacks are unwarranted and can get you blocked. You have no idea what military experience or not an editor has. The deletion has nothing to do with another editor's expertise but with your reading of the rules. The article was speedy deleted under A7. You were advised of this in your Talk page by the nominating editor not once but twice, yet you did nothing to address the problem. Even if the article subject is credible, you have to assert notability by means of reliable sources. If you have them, post them in the article. If you want to request help from an admin on restoring an article you have to be nicer. Starting your request by insulting an editor's expertise and competence is not the way to go. Have a good day. -- Alexf(talk) 19:11, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned to Hatred

Hi, Alex. The same SPA who put up the article Orphaned To Hatred that you speedily deleted 25 May 2010 13:16 has put posted the exact same article all over again, without discussion. Just wanted to let you know he's persistent. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:08, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

No need to inform. If you think it doesn't follow the rules, then post a CSD tag and a passing admin will take a look at it. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 22:00, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of "Ziggo (robot)"

I believe that my article "Ziggo (robot)" should not have been speedily deleted. It was for a robot in the series BattleBots. There are pages for other robots in the series such as BioHazard (robot) and Deadblow. Seeing as there are pages for other robots, I believe mine shouldn't have been deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Resitate (talkcontribs) 15:54, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Have you read the notice the nominating editor left you? You have not acted upon it to fix the problems with he article. Just because other similar articles exist does not confer notability to the one you wrote. The article did not have any reliable sources. Have you read the basic rules? Don't forget to sign your posts. -- Alexf(talk) 16:23, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Mark Ireland

Alex, I am not sure why my article for Mark Ireland was deleted for notoriety. He is the front-runner in a race to be judge in a county of over half a million residents. He was assistant attorney general of the state of Minnesota. He is one of the most successful prosecutors and trial lawyers in the United States as well as a published author. He is certainly notable and his biography is easily discoverable. Exclusion due to a bias against either the legal profession or the state of Minnesota would be inappropriate. Please undo the deletion or provide information as to how the entry could avoid deletion if reposted.

Thank you, Robert —Preceding unsigned comment added by Imperiosus (talkcontribs) 20:57, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Next time could you please follow procedure and start a new section for your issue, instead of hiding it inside another entry and making it hard to find? Could you also please supply a red link as requested: Mark Ireland which also makes it easier to find? Coming to the article, it was deleted because it did not have reliable sources to indicate notability, as it was already indicated to you in your talk page. Please note the requirements, especially under WP:POLITICIAN. Note item #3: Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability. The indicated pages should give you an idea of what the rules are for BLP articles. -- Alexf(talk) 21:44, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
