In Muslim world, the scholastic efforts for reconciliation between religion and philosophy started from 9th and 10th century AD. Therefore, a new philosophical stream was formed where theology and philosophy met each other. This attempt to make a liaison between religion and philosophy was based on Neo-Platonic doctrines that have enough resemblances with Islamic theology. The rational representation of philosophy made this attempt incoherent with religious beliefs giving sole concern for rational stands. The religious scholars who came later harshly criticized and attributed infidelity over them. But later Muslim philosophers supported their theoretical concepts and justified their stands. Moreover, they kept tradition of Islamic philosophy attempting to align philosophical schools, which hold a similarity to the themes of Islam, with the divine metaphysical and mystical concepts of Islam. This study is intended to scrutinize the influence of Neo-Platonism that was developed by Ammonius Saccas and systematized by Plotinus in AD 2th century in such schools that formulated by Muslim philosophers through these kinds of endeavor namely Peripatetic, Illuminationist, transcendental theosophy. For that reason, the chapters of a comprehensive study on Neo-Platonism, attitudes of Muslim theological schools towards philosophy, the milieu of influence from Greek sources, and its influences upon Islamic philosophy are become part of this research. Eventually this study sheds the light upon Neo-Platonic Influences of Islamic philosophy as well as analyzing the allegation over mysticism what it is influenced by Neo-Platonism.
