The Haunting of Hill House
The Haunting of Hill House
Characters:
- Dr. John Montague
- Eleanor Vance
- Theodora
- Luke Sanderson
- Mr. Dudley & Arthur
Act I
(The stage is set with a grand, but eerie, old mansion. Dr. John Montague, a paranormal
investigator, has invited three people to join him in investigating Hill House. They are
gathered in the living room.)
°Dr. Montague: Welcome, everyone, to Hill House. I am Dr. John Montague, and I have
invited you here to assist me in exploring the supernatural phenomena that have been
reported in this house.
°Eleanor:(Nervously)* I'm Eleanor Vance. I'm not sure why I'm here, but I've always been
drawn to the mysteries of Hill House, I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW ADVENTURE TO
HELP ME CHANGE MY ROUTINE A LITTLE BIT, SINCE I LIVE WITH MY SISTER
AFTER MY MOTHER DIED, AND I HAVE SPENT HALF OF MY LIFE TAKING CARE
OF MY MOTHER AND OBEYING WHAT I AM ORDERED TO DO. MY FAMILY
DOES NOT AGREE WITH THIS TRIP, SO I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR WITHOUT
AUTHORIZATION.
°Theodora: I'm Theodora. I have a gift for sensing things beyond the ordinary, and I'm
curious to see what Hill House has in store for us. FOR MANY YEARS I HAVE BEEN
INTERESTED IN THE HISTORY OF THIS HOUSE THAT WAS BUILT 80 YEARS
AGO, BECAUSE IT IS FASCINATING TO KNOW THE TRAGIC EVENT OF THE 3
WIVES OF MR. HUGH CRAIN THAT DIED IN THIS PLACE AND THAT MAKES IT
TERRIFYING.
°Luke: Luke Sanderson, at your service. I'm here for the adventure and, if I'm honest, the
possibility of a good story to tell. I FIND IT CURIOUS TO COME TO THIS HOUSE
THAT IS A FAMILY INHERITANCE AND CONFIRM ALL THE STORIES THAT ARE
TOLD IN THE VILLAGE, IN REALITY I DON'T BELIEVE IN MANY OF THOSE
STORIES; HOWEVER, IT WILL BE A GREAT MYSTERY TO SPEND A FEW DAYS IN
THIS PLACE.
°Mr. Dudley:(Entering) I am Mr. Dudley, the caretaker of Hill House. I must warn you, the
house is not suitable for anyone. THIS PLACE IS NOT THE MOST APPROPRIATE TO
COME AND SPEND A FEW DAYS, AS YOU KNOW THE PLACE HAS AN AURA OF
MYSTERY THAT REALLY ENDS UP DISTURBING THE MIND TO ANYONE WHO
DECIDES TO FACE THIS PLACE. MY WIFE SERVES DINNER AT 6 O'CLOCK AND
BREAKFAST AT 9 O'CLOCK. WE DON'T WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO COME AND WE
LEAVE AFTER SERVING DINNER, WE LIVE IN THE VILLAGE VERY FAR FROM
HERE SO IF YOU NEED SOMETHING WE COULDN'T HELP YOU.
(As the characters settle in, strange and eerie events begin to occur, slowly escalating as the
night progresses.)
°Dr. Montague: There is definitely a presence in this house. We must proceed with caution.
BUT BE REASSURED, I AM AN EXPERIENCED DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY WHO
HAS DEVOTED MUCH OF HIS LIFE TO PARANORMAL PHENOMENA RESEARCH,
AND I BELIEVE I MAY BE ABLE TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF THE CURSE OF
HILL HOUSE. WE WILL SPEND A FEW DAYS HERE EXPLORING WHAT COULD
BE A SOMEWHAT HARROWING EXPERIENCE.
(The characters experience chilling encounters with the supernatural, each one revealing
more about the dark history of Hill House and its effect on those who enter.) AGREGAR UN
AUDIO CON SUCESOS PARANORMALES (ACTUAR TAL CUAL SE ASUTAN EN EL
LIBRO) FIN DE ESCENA

Act II
(The tension in Hill House grows as the characters continue to experience unexplainable
phenomena. They begin to unravel, each one affected in different ways by the malevolent
forces within the house.)
Eleanor: (In a panic) I can't take this anymore! I feel like the house is alive, like it's trying to
consume me! (ELEANOR COMIENZA A VER ALREDEDOR MUY ASUSTADA) ¿QUE
ES ESO? ¿QUE ES ESE RUIDO? LA CASA ESTA VIVA PUEDO SENTIRLO, ES UNA
SENSACION MUY EXTRANA COMO UN AIRE HELADO.
Luke: I've seen things... heard things... I can't explain. This house is playing tricks on us. DE
IGUAL MANERA DEBEMOS TENER CUIDADO EN CADA PASO A SEGUIR POR
QUE NUESTRA MENTE PODRIA SER MAS PELIGROSA QUE LO SOBRENATURAL.
Dr. Montague: We must stay together. There is a force here that thrives on fear and isolation.
As long as we remain united, we can withstand it. EL PROCESO DE SELECCION FUE UN
POCO RIGUROSO; TUVE QUE REVISAR CADA ARTICULO QUE PUDE LEER PARA
ENCONTRAR A LAS PERSONAS QUE HAYAN VIVIDO SUCESOS
PARANORMALES EN EL PASADO, POR LO CUAL USTEDES ESTAN POR UNA
RAZON, SU PASADO SOBRENATURAL.
DR MONTAGUE: POR SUPUESTO QUE SI, HACE UNOS AÑOS VIVIO ALGO A LO
QUE SE LE LLAMA POLTERGEIST, UN FANTASMA BURLON, SEGÚN LO QUE LEI
CAYO UNA TORMENTA DE PIEDRAS EN SU CASA DURANTE 3 DIAS QUE FUE
VISTO POR TODAS LAS PERSONAS ALREDEDOR Y ENTONCES ESA ES LA
RAZON POR LA CUAL YO QUISE QUE VENGA A LA CASA HILL.
(AUDIOOOOOOOOOOO)
JUSTO CUANDO SE FUERON A DORMIR ELEANOR Y THEODORA COMENZARON
A PRESENCIAR UN SUCESO PARANORMAL, ELEANOR DESPERTO POR UNA
PESADILLA SOBRE SU MADRE Y ESCUCHO A THEODORA GRITAR EN SU
HABITACION, JUNTAS COMENZARON A ESCUCHAR GOLPES MUY FUERTES Y
UNOS GRITOS ATERRADORES ATRAVES DE LA PUERTA, AL CABO DE UNOS
MINUTOS LLEGARON EL DOCTOR MONTAGUE Y LUKE Y LOGRARON
TRANQUILIZARSE.
Dr. Montague: We mustn't give in to fear! We must face whatever is in this house together!

ACT 4
AUDIOO: THE REST OF THE GROUP GOES TO BED, BUT LATER THEY GATHER
IN A BEDROOM BECAUSE DR. MONTAGUE WANTS THEM TO BE TOGETHER IN
CASE SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS. SOON, THEY HEAR A KNOCK IN THE
HALLWAY. THE NOISE GROWS LOUDER UNTIL THEY REACH THE DOOR,
WHICH BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. DR. MONTAGUE INSISTS ON GOING IN

IT'S ALL OVER AND THE NIGHT PASSES
THEODORA GLEEFULLY REMARKS THAT THE HOUSE TOOK THEM ALL ON A
""MAD MIDNIGHT ADVENTURE." DR. MONTAGUE EXAMINES ARTHUR, WHO HE
SAYS IS STILL SLEEPING SOUNDLY.
Eleanor: I can't sleep... every time I close my eyes, I see Hill House. I feel like it's still
watching me, still waiting to claim me.
Theodora: I thought leaving Hill House would bring me peace, but I can't escape the feeling
of dread that lingers in my mind.
Luke: I've tried to move on, to forget what happened, but it's like a shadow hanging over me.
I can't shake the feeling that something from Hill House followed me out. DR. MONTAGUE
LE OFRESCO HILL HOUSE A MUY ASEQUIBLE PRECIO
Dr. Montague: We may have left Hill House, but Hill House has not left us. It has left its
mark on us, a reminder of the power of fear and the darkness that lies within us all.
AUDIO: (As they struggle to come to terms with their experiences, they realize that they
must confront Hill House one final time, to truly put the past behind them.)
Eleanor: We have to go back... we have to face Hill House one last time, to prove to
ourselves that we are stronger than it.
Act V
ARTHUR: BUENOS DIAS, LES CONTARE SOBRE MI EXPERIENCIA EN LA
HABITACION DE LOS NIÑOS, EN REALIDAD FUE UNA NOCHE TRANQUILA
SOLO QUE LA VENTILACION DE LA CASA ERA HORRIBLE; Y ADEMAS HABIAN
MUCHAS RAMAS GOLPEANDO LA VENTANA
Dr. Montague: Our time at Hill House may have been harrowing, but it has also been
enlightening. We have learned that we are stronger together than we are apart, and that is a
lesson we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
THEODORA:
**Act VI**
*(The characters have moved on from Hill House and are now living their lives, each one
following their own path.)*
**Eleanor:** *(Narrating)* It's been a year since we left Hill House behind, and I can
honestly say that I'm happier now than I've ever been. I've found a sense of peace and
purpose that I never thought possible.
**Theodora:** *(Narrating)* I decided to pursue my gift for sensing the supernatural, and I
now work as a paranormal investigator. Hill House may have been terrifying, but it also
showed me that there is so much more to the world than meets the eye.
**Luke:** *(Narrating)* I've started a new chapter in my life, one that doesn't involve
chasing after thrills and excitement. I've found fulfillment in helping others, and I know that's
where I'm meant to be.
**Dr. Montague:** *(Narrating)* As for me, I've dedicated myself to studying the
paranormal, using what I learned at Hill House to help others who are facing similar
experiences. It's a way for me to give back and to honor the memory of those who didn't
make it out of Hill House.
*(As the characters reflect on their experiences, they realize that while Hill House may have
been a nightmare, it also taught them valuable lessons about life, courage, and the power of
friendship.)*
**Eleanor:** We may have been haunted by Hill House, but we emerged from it stronger
and wiser. It will always be a part of our past, but it doesn't define who we are.
**Theodora:** We faced our fears and came out on the other side. Hill House may have been
a dark chapter in our lives, but it also brought us together and showed us that we are capable
of more than we ever thought possible.
**Luke:** Hill House may have tried to break us, but it only made us stronger. We'll always
carry the memories of our time there, but we won't let them hold us back. We're survivors,
and nothing can change that.
**Dr. Montague:** Our time at Hill House may have been a nightmare, but it also taught us
valuable lessons about the power of fear and the strength of the human spirit. We'll always
carry those lessons with us, wherever life takes us.
*(The characters, having found closure and peace, look towards the future with hope and
optimism, knowing that they have the strength to face whatever challenges lie ahead. The
play ends with a sense of renewal and possibility, as they step confidently into the
unknown.)*
