Pretty, prettier, the prettiest: bonito, mais bonito, o mais bonito

This – isso (when asking “what is this? This is…” (O quê é isso? Isso é …) You can also say “isto”
(closer to you) or “aquilo” which is the English “that”. If you don’t want to complicate your life too
much then just use “isso”, (the most common one � )

This – when talking about something specific (this is a book). Este/esse (masculine), Esta/essa
(feminine). (again – don’t care about the difference between este and esse, I can explain it in more
details when we meet if you want but it’s really not very significant, Portuguese-speaking people use
it randomly)
