This paper explores the use of photography as a tool for documenting traditional Nigerian hair styles and discusses the preservation of those photographs in museums.

Early man absorbed and expressed these concepts intuitively to transform his social environment to what it is now. It is this aesthetic consciousness that distinguishes man from animals. Evidence of this can be seen in cave and rock decorations. As a result, in this technological age, man has the obligation to shape, tend, and decorate his buildings to make the environment attractive by erecting graphic design pieces and artwork such as paintings, sculptural pieces, mural designs, wall hangings, etc. In Nigeria, this action and style is not omitted in public buildings. The buildings are decorated with graphics and artwork to create beauty and tell stories about the rich cultural heritage of the Nigerians. The background of public decoration was transferred to this present generation from the wall decoration of the cave men. This paper examines the philosophy behind the erection of graphic design, artworks, and sculptural pieces that decorate public places and buildings in Nigeria and the impact of these on the environmental aesthetic. The paper concludes that these concepts stand as vital components in achieving a sustainable built environment, and that beauty of the Nigerian built environment can be sustained when art, design, and architecture are brought together.

It is a truism that Nigeria in Africa is endowed with great cultural heritage, which needs to be adequately documented. Evidence of this can be traced to the production of Nok terracotta, Benin bronze casting, Ife terracotta and Igbo Ukwu Art, which justify the fact that Nigeria had ancient civilizations that competed with the Romans and Greeks, but which did not come to limelight until the 1890’s when the British soldiers invaded the Benin kingdom and some of the art treasures were looted. Against this backdrop, an effort to safeguard the sanctity of this heritage made Kenneth Murray intensify efforts at establishing a museum of art and antiquity at Jos in 1943. The paper discusses the advent of Museums in Nigeria and the cultural preservation of art and finally it takes a cursory look at art as cultural heritage in Nigeria. Abstract This study identified the popularity of Non-Alcoholic Beverages (NAB) package forms in Akure for the purpose of exploring the possibility of creating visual code for easy product categorization and nomenclature in the non-alcoholic beverage product category. The research methodology involved collection, observation, and recording of the selected NAB through purposive sampling. A total of 218 product names of NABs were collected from the Akure Shopping Mall. By using Microsoft excel and SPSS 17 for analysis, the findings show that there is increase in multiple uses of NAB package forms.
