Lutein is one of the most important carotenoids that is abundantly found in banana peel and belongs to xanthophyll’s family. The present study aims to banana extract in order to use the applied properties of its carotenoids specially lutein. The banana peels were dried in vacuum oven and changed to powder, three solvents of ethanol 96%, methanol 99.5% and ethyl acetate 80% were used in 27 and 35 centigrade to extract its juice and study the amount of lutein. HPLC, UV-VIS spectrophotometer and FRAP test were respectively used to determine the amount of lutein and the antioxidant power of the extracts. The findings showed that considering the inhibition time of pure lutein with HPLC that took about 2.311 minutes, the amount of lutein gained by ethyl acetate solvent was more as compared to other extracts and its peak area was about 400.Similarly, through UV-VIS colorimetry and considering the amount of light absorbance of pure lutein, the amount of light absorbance in ethyl acetate solvent in 27°C was more as compared to other samples and its amount of absorbance was about 2.204.The antioxidant power of ethyl acetate in 27°C in FRAP method showed the higher amount.

In this research, the effect of iron oxide nano structure on decreasing chromium and arsenic in aqueous solution was investigated. The results indicate that rate of reducing polluters chromium and arsenic will be increased by increasing nano structure and by increasing time of irradiation and also with respect to that iron oxide nanostructure causes to permeate hexavalent chromium into trivalent chromium, it can be concluded that after timing to solution, the rate of chromium reduction will be increased because of precipitation and in this order with 0.2 gr of iron oxide nano particles and after 120 m ultrasonic irradiation, arsenic and chromium polluters were eliminated from waste water 94%, 97% respectively.
Resolution of binary mixtures of metoprolol and propranolol without sample pretreatment has been ... more Resolution of binary mixtures of metoprolol and propranolol without sample pretreatment has been successfully achieved, using three different methods. The first method was based on application of Vierodt’s method that involves measurements of the absorbances at 222.6 and 213.4 nm for metoprolol and propranolol. Calibration graphs were established in the range of 1-70 μg/mL and 0.5-30 μg/mLfor metoprolol and propranolol, respectively. The second method describes the use of multivariate spectophotometric calibration by using partial least squares (PLS) analysis of UV spectral data. In the third method, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was performed by using reversed phase column and a mobile phase composed of 0.01 mol/LNaH2PO4 (adjusted to pH 3.0 with phosphoric acid) - methanol - acetonitril (45:45:10, v:v:v). The proposed methods were validated and results obtained by adopting the three methods were statistically analyzed.

It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Tb(III) ions with EDTA. The sensor was applied to the determination of Tb(III) ions concentration in water samples solutions.
borate (NaTPB) as an anion excluder, and dibutylphthalate (DBP), benzylacetate (BA), acetophenon (AP) and nitrobenzene (NB) as plasticizing solvent mediators and investigated as a
selective membrane sensor. The sensor displays a linear dynamic range between 1.0×10−8 and 1.0×10−2 M, with a nice Nernstian slope of 19.8±0.4 mV per decade and a detection limit of 8.4×10−9 M. The proposed sensor displays a fast response time (~5 s). The potentiometric response is independent of pH in the range of 2.1–9.5.
