For instance, a failure in one ground operation activity could result in the poor on-time performance of the airline's companies. The objective of the current study is to analyze the causes of ground operations accidents that resulted in aircraft damages in an airlines company in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the safety culture of the ground operators was assessed. The number of accidents during the period 2016-2019 was found high. The main causes were unsafe operator act and unsafe supervision. Also, the safety culture questionnaire revealed that other causes had a role in developing unsafe acts, such as organizational aspects. The study recommends improving many organizational aspects such as properly designed procedures, roles and responsibilities, training, communication and reporting system, equipment maintenance schedule, field inspections, strict and supportive supervision, as well as fair workload and compensation. Improving these aspects should reflect on the safety culture and behaviour of operators and immediate supervisors. The result is reduced aircraft damage accidents and on-time performance improvement.

In this paper, the authors use a CYCLONE V 5CSEMA5FC31C6N Altera-Intel FPGA in order to implement a UART-to-Bell202 converter for the direct interfacing of an FPGA with an analogue line on the voice band, not still available for industrial and consumer electronic for communications applications. In particular, a transmitter is created with an Audio Shift Keying modulation without phase continuity, capable of converting UART signals coming from any UART transmitter (for example a personal computer, PC) into a modulated signal. The design has been performed using the Terasic DE1-SoC development board, while instrumental tests have been performed with a ZEROPLUS LAP-C logic states analyzer and a CML1102 oscilloscope.

The user needs to wear a glove which consists of transmitter and sensors like IR sensor. These sensors help in recording the movement of hand in a desired direction which ultimately results in the motion of robot or vehicle. It will be very easy for user to interact with car or robot more easily due to wire free connectivity. Vehicle can be controlled with the help of accelerometer sensor which is connected to hand glove. This will help the applicant to control the forward, backward and sideways movements. We have made the cross connections of motors which will help in the movement of tyres so that vehicle can take a sharp turn without any difficulty. Hand gesture controlled driverless vehicle is developed with the help of Arduino Nano, three-axis accelerometer, RF transmitter and receiver module.

The depleting natural resources (like fossil fuels) add further to this concern. If we continue to use and exploit fossil fuels at the existing rate, then after another 150 years or so they would be no longer available for our use. Therefore, it is the duty of present generation to use fossil fuels judiciously to ensure sustainable development. The need of the hour is to adopt some measures which can help to manage wastes and at the same time to generate some alternate fuels out of it to conserve the precious fossil fuels. The process known as " Pyrolysis " which can be a possible solution for conversion of waste to fuel. In pyrolysis, wastes like plastic, polythene, tyres and biomass etc. can be converted to fuel oil, chemicals and gas, using heat in absence of air. Thus, pyrolysis these days is catching everybody's attention due to its potential to utilize variety of waste feedstocks to generate combustible products and may prove to be potential technology for society in the times to come. Based upon this idea, an effort is made in this study to produce oil from the pyrolysis of waste plastic. In the present work, plastic waste was converted into pyrolytic oil using self fabricated pyrolytic reactor at Energy Lab in DCRUST, Murthal and vapour condensing unit. Various properties like calorific value, kinematic viscosity and density were measured and compared with diesel.

The effects of bending radius (4-15mm, with steps of 1mm), and wrapping turn (up to 40 turns) on loss have been studied. Twisting the optical fiber and its influence on power loss also has been investigated. Variations of macro bending loss with these two parameters have been measured, loss with number of turns and radius of curvature have been measured. This work founds that the Macro bending and wrapping turn loss increases as the bending radius and wrapping turn increases.

One important manner in which existing terminal capacity could be increased would be through more efficiency. In this paper, we consider terminal efficiency from the perspective of simultaneously improving both berth and quay crane scheduling. The approach is applied to a discrete and dynamic berth allocation and crane assignment problem for both mono-objective and multi-objective variants. The problem is solved through a neighborhood meta-heuristic called the Extended Great Deluge (EGD). The results obtained with this meta-heuristic have shown better results than a Genetic Algorithm proposed in other works. A Simulated Annealing algorithm (SA) is also implemented to serve as basis of comparison for new instances results. Both algorithms (EGD and SA) for mono-objective variant have been applied to different size instances based on real world and generated data. Two new EGD-based multi-objective approaches have been proposed. Computational results are presented and discussed.

One of the most significant factors that influence cost of manufacturing is tolerance. Traditionally, cost formulations were established based on a single size tolerance parameter. However, with geometric tolerances, as is the case for virtually all part /assembly tolerancing processes, it may not be always feasible to create one single tolerance parameter that could be used for estimating the cost functions. It has been shown in earlier studies that set of generic deviation parameters could be used to represent the geometric tolerances as per ASME Y14.5 specifications and these deviation parameters could be used to develop cost formulations at various geometric tolerancing conditions. In this paper, the authors present establishment of cost coefficients for machining cylindrical features subjected to geometric tolerances, using turning operations. Results from the manufacturing experiments carried out at various combinations of speed, feed and depth of cut on cylindrical samples (external cylindrical feature) of specified nominal size and tolerances are presented. The deviations of the machined surfaces were measured for establishing the virtual condition boundary (VCB) of the cylindrical features and subsequently, computation of the cost coefficients have been carried out. The results are presented along with discussion on the applicability and limitations of these cost models.

And when such communication takes place at outdoor terrestrial area to establish communication between various buildings within line of sight (LOS), then it is called Free Space Optical (FSO) Communication. FSO can be used for high rate communication for MAN extension, LAN to LAN connectivity or just to provide simple link between two distant points. This paper shows the design model for FSO link from one point to another separated by some distance. The link would be simulated virtually through software to attain maximum speed or high data rate up to maximum range possible, irrespective of all the atmospheric turbulences that the FSO channel could face during transmission of data. We would use optical sources at transmitter side and optical detectors as the receiver side to design the link.

This paper shows the design model for FSO link from one point to another separated by some distance. The link would be simulated virtually through software to attain maximum speed or high data rate up to maximum range possible, irrespective of all the atmospheric turbulences that the FSO channel could face during transmission of data. We would use optical sources at transmitter side and optical detectors as the receiver side to design the link.

are robust, scalable and flexible. The literature is being analyzed from the swarm engineering perspective. We proposed taxonomies to research the swarm robotics literature: the techniques taxonomy, wherein we discussed the principle layout and analysis methods, etc. In this paper, we supplied a review of the state of the art in swarm robotics from a swarm engineering perspective. We foresee that, as swarm robotics is further advanced and as it is used to address real-world applications, the need for a swarm engineering will increase. In the conclusions, we additionally diagnosed a few open issues along with swarm engineering aspects at the underdeveloped level.
