The research data is primary data obtained directly from the field in the area of Dawan language speakers. The data in this study are the Amanuban dialect in the Kolbano sub-district, South Central Timor district, which were obtained through participatory observation methods using note-taking techniques to list words that underwent a metathesis process. In addition, the interview method with Dawan language speakers was also used to explore and at the same time test the acceptability of a word and its use in sentences. The researcher's knowledge (intuitive data) was also used to support the observation and interview methods. The results of the data analysis show that the process of metathesis in Dawan language is not merely a phonological phenomenon but there is a relationship between phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and discourse. This article can have an impact, both theoretically and practically, especially as a source of literature in language documentation.
