The one minute paper is a versatile classroom assessment technique used for obtaining regular fee... more The one minute paper is a versatile classroom assessment technique used for obtaining regular feedbacks after the instruction from the students. The immediately written feedbacks at the end of the class clearly provide the instructors with a way to identify the learning improvements, student participation, and learning needs in the class. This study on the basis of the collected one-minute feedbacks (N=203) provided by the students on instant-messenger during two consecutive semesters (2017-2018) at Tsinghua University, Beijing indicates that the syntax and the negative appraisal of the instruction have significant predictability on their final scores. The key variables regressed on the final scores of the students include word count, content similarity with the course material, and syntax of the feedback. As an academic language, English is more challenging for second language learners. This study mainly fills a gap in using one minute paper in the Chinese context, thus opening the avenues for research on one minute paper in varied language contexts. The results of this study are consistent with the basic convention of the adaptive control of thought model for second language learning.
This exploratory qualitative study based on multiple-case studies collects reviewers' comments us... more This exploratory qualitative study based on multiple-case studies collects reviewers' comments using a 'vector manuscript' that carries 5 obvious mistakes for assessment. On the basis of the synthesized guidelines prescribed for the reviewers, these comments are measured and assessed. The assessment of the collected review comments of conferences, international journals, and that of the institutional level (N=126), suggests that the elements of negligence and marketisation have already infused in the academics of review. Those who were more oriented towards money were found to be 6.9 times more threatening in comparison to those who were not money-oriented. In this study, at the institutional level, those accepting gifts from the student before reviewing the paper are coded as asking for money.

Epistemology is ontology with vantage points. ‘How engaged’ is epistemological stand-point of sys... more Epistemology is ontology with vantage points. ‘How engaged’ is epistemological stand-point of systemwide engagements of Indian-postgraduate-education stakeholders for exploring the research problem as central research question of this study. Postgraduate education of India is the space where higher education problems of India are centrally accommodated. Engagements of stakeholders in Indian higher education system are attributed on coordination. It is critically instrumentalized based on postulated themes of seminal works and rival explanations on higher education system governance. For keeping discontinuity regarding forms of coordination, the study is designed longitudinally on the timeframes spanning from 1896 to 1906, 1966 to 1976, 2009-2020 for analyses. Based on streamlined data for high-quality analysis of postgraduate education across timeframes of Indian higher education system, it is found that the diversity of structures and accommodation of conflicting values are evidently related. Ranking of institutions based on indices of quality do not confirm the competence of the Indian postgraduate education knowledge in the higher education systems. Rival explanations of isomorphism and commitments did capture data more profoundly than the presumptions posed for Indian postgraduate education. Evident exemplars from units-of-analysis described as timeframes indicate that engagement of stakeholders is vital for proper functioning of Indian postgraduate education knowledge in systems. Engagements pertaining to forms-of-coordination and attributions-of-stakeholder are found to be extremely incoherent and the more incoherent engagements showed evidences of more inconsistencies regarding postgraduate education in Indian higher education system. Validity of this study is limited regarding multi-dimensional constructs of identities and beliefs prevailing in Indian higher education system. However, findings of this study based on rigorous philosophical, theoretical, methodological and evidential grounds confirm the parameters of internal, external, face and construct validities and reliabilities. Meanings of Indian-postgraduate-education in Indian higher education system are not coherent as that of elsewhere in the world. The similar degrees from Indian higher education, therefore, could not bear the same levels of academic capacities and ontology of knowledge of elsewhere higher education systems in the world. Enrolments of Indian postgraduates in other higher education systems must be done based on evaluations.

In the context of academic market, the research investigates each functionality pertaining to researcher account facilitated by the ORC whether as a system it is robust enough to secure the data and other author related information. On the basis of the units identified as Inside-out (units that facilitates information flow from the ORCID account to outside) and Outside-in (units that facilitates information flow from anyone else but the account holder), neutral units and the contradictory units so coded illustrate that there are instances on the system that could facilitate academic data breach on the registrants portal. It is found that there are instances where ORCID as an organization has to improve its IT system to help secure the data breach. Besides, it was also found that the guiding principles including that of aim, vision, and mission of ORC are extremely US centric and therefore in order to give ORCID a global outlook an international consent and yardstick in this regard is needed. The publications themselves must regulate the integrity of the author's academic worth while encouraging them to integrate their separate account with the ORCID. The Plato's groove an epithet used for the academic world is considered rather sensitive in compared to that of the common market in this research.

This study is designed to report the motivation level for academic English and improved beliefs a... more This study is designed to report the motivation level for academic English and improved beliefs among the regular University students enrolled in the course 'English for PhD Students' at Beijing Normal University during the period of 2012 and 2013 spring semesters, in Beijing. A total of 'N=104' students volunteered for this research. The findings were clear and robust indicating that the participants' belief for academic English changed from the beginning to the end of the semesters. The research was mainly focused on finding the statistical correlation among the motivation, learning strategies, and student management of different resources pertaining to domicile (rural or urban) and sex of the students. This study is an exploratory investigation based on distributive statistics, correlation coefficients, and T-tests. No significant difference was reported in motivation strategy for learning by the students in terms of their sex and domicile. Besides the urban students and male students tend to show the significant correlation among their intrinsic goal orientation and self-efficacy for learning and performance. Male students also reported a significant correlation between the components of Test anxiety and their motivated strategy for learning academic English.
