    This paper presents an updated and simplified, procedure for calculating the envelope curve of lateral resistances of confined masonry walls with medium or low heights. The idealized envelope curve of lateral resistance was defined with parameters obtained by experimental tests performed for different investigations in Peru. The analytical envelope curves are compared with experimental curves obtained of model tested under cyclic reversible loads. Results suggest an adequate prediction of elastic limit, maximum resistance and ultimate state.
