The bridge over the Danube will be part of the so-called north main tangent - NMT as one of the most important elements of the future road and street network base in Belgrade. It will be the second bridge over the Danube in Belgrade. In this paper the results of the pile load tests for the central bridge structure foundation will be analysed, using the EC 7 standard. The length of the test pile was 46 m and its diameter was 2.0 m. Load test was carried out with the contra load of 2100 tons in the form of pre-stressed reinforced concrete beam, which is founded on piles, each about 60 m. For the realization of a vertical pressing force to the pile head, five hydraulic presses were used, that were securing the force from 3000 to 6000 kN.

Activism of the total shear strength of waste materials happens at high deformations. The stress-displacement relation, during the shearing, has tendency of growth ”up”, without pronounced peak shear strength. Because of this, it is quite difficult to define shear strength parameters and the most acceptable failure criterion is one which is related with magnitude of shear stress at specified deformation called mobilized shear strength. Results obtained by laboratory testing of municipal waste materials from two different sanitary landfills in Serbia will be presented in the paper. Besides the isotropic properties, the waste material has high anisotropic properties and because of that tests were made on samples which were prepared in two ways: by compacting the material in horizontal and vertical layers.

Geotechnical classification of municipal waste usually comes down to the attempts, and it is based on the existing - various classifications that are used for the soil. For extremely heterogeneous waste, establishing of the general geotechnical classification system is quite complex and it is still in phase of formation. For the geotechnical classification system, which is presented in this paper, it was used the municipal waste from two landfills in Serbia. Applying the instructions of S.W.A.-Tool (European Commission, 2004), sorting and separating were performed and based on that the composition of municipal waste is defined. The material was grouped by the particle shape by the visual inspection. The three characteristic shapes were isolated: "three-dimensional" (bulky, compact), "two-dimensional" (flat, plate, flaked, foils) and "one-dimensional" (elongated, acicular, fibrous). Like this the separated materials further are grouped according to the d...

This paper treats development issues of the suburban areas of Belgrade city. A considerable growth that the city had experienced has led to excessive consumption of land and also to degradation of the landscape and loss of the natural biodiversity. This is why an augmentation of the current Master Plan within the administrative extents of the city is considered to be vital for consistent planning of suburban areas development. Model used in this paper considered defining land-use suitability, relying on available thematic data, including the following sources: topography, land-cover, geology, protected areas and some synthetic maps derived from these sources in a GIS environment. For this purpose Support Vector Machines (SVM) algorithm has been implemented in a typical supervised classification learning task. Two modelling schemes have been involved (since the main problem of the study was the unavailability of the land-use suitability in the testing area): MODEL1 has been built in ...

In this paper, the most common determination methods of basic parameters of physical condition will be presented (moisture, organic substances content, unit weight, specific gravity, porosity, grain size distribution), using standard geomechanical laboratory equipment. In addition, average values of these parameters based on literature data as well as specific recommendations based on results obtained by testing the old municipal waste from two landfills in Serbia (closed landfill Ada Huja in Belgrade and city landfill In Novi Sad) will be presented.
