Previous researchers put these pillars as economy, social and environment. Upon improving these three pillars, sustainable development becomes trustworthy in relation to workplace safety and health improvement. However, the researchers' findings have drawback in considering existing three pillars. Previous researches neglected to incorporate the other three pillars of sustainable development which are culture, political and technological factors. Having these pillars, sustainable development can also be guaranteed by considering workplace safety and health innovation for all internal and external entities engage at work. This is because of the implementation the pillars reduce the working environment accidents and disease. Hence, this research focuses on the workplace safety & health innovation, introducing new pillars for sustainable development, their impact on sustainable developments and indicating the three pillars future research areas. Methods like literature review, interviewing employees and observation of industries were used. There were few researches found on how sustainable development affected by workplace safety and health innovation approaches. However, this literature more focused on the relationship workplace innovation and sustainable development share in common. The other finding in this study showed that the innovation of workplace safety and health brings sustainable development through healthy people , safer workplace, reduced cost of accidents, controlled environment, managed workplace accidents and improved workplace safety knowledge. The researchers have also attempted to forward roads toward sustainable development through occupational safety and health innovation and improvement approaches.

The objective of this article is also to understand the concept of lean manufacturing, its philosophy, various tools and techniques, lean implementation benefits and barrier towards lean implementation of chemical industries. Competitiveness of chemical manufacturing industry is not easily attainable since chemical products nature is variant. There are challenges which hinder the development of chemical industries production. The chemical industries contribution to the economy is very small when compared to agriculture contribution due to infant stage of the industrial group in general. The methods that can bring the chemical industries development and increase competitiveness is one lean thinking revolution. This lean isn’t just about using tools, or changing a few steps in chemical manufacturing processes. It’s about the complete change ...

In this regard, crafting Nano flower-built MnCo2S4 nanoarchitecture with Ni foam network favors short path roots and interconnected for excellent charging transfer and ion transmission, which allows the energetic Faradaic redox procedures by the improves active surface. According to the structural and compositional features, the as developed MnCo2S4 nanoflower nanoarchitecture exhibits superior electrochemical capacity activities. Impressively, the MnCo2S4 nanoflowers achieve an excellent specific capacitance of 779 F g 1 at a current density of 1 A g 1, which causes unique features of structural construction. When tested long-term cycling stability performance, the as-constructed MnCo2S4 nanoflowers achieves excellent capacitance retention 96.5% over 3000 cycling stability performance at a current density of 2 A g 1 with superior conductivity. Considered the above points, the simplistic approach yet unique construction of this MnCo2S4 holds substantial potential energy conversion and high-performance energy storage.

Its aims also to understand the concept of lean manufacturing, various tools and techniques of lean, lean implementation benefits and barrier toward its implementation. Then, on the basis of the result, a conceptual frame work was developed to reduce the existing gaps. Design/methodology/approach Lean thinking is one of the methods that can bring productivity and customer’s demand improvement for manufacturing and service giving industries. To arrive at the lean thinking productivity improvement and customer satisfaction of the sector (MEIs), intensive literature review and secondary data investigation were conducted. Findings Articles and secondary data related to the case were reviewed and found the existing gaps. The gaps identified such as missing energy waste, space waste and material waste, waste of knowledge or talents. In addition to the...

Peacock shoe is one of the manufacturing industries in Ethiopia facing challenges on sustaining. The methodology followed is factor analysis and empirically testing hypothesis. A database was designed using SPSS version 20. The survey was validated using statistical validation using the Cronbach alpha index; the result is 0.908. The KMO index value was obtained for the 32 items and had a value of 0.642 with Bartlett's Test of Sphericity Approx. Chi-Square 4503.007, degree of freedom 496 and significance value 0.000. A factor analysis by principal components and varimax rotation was applied for finding the critical success factors. Finding designates that 32 items are merged in to eight critical success factors. All the eight factors together explain for 76.941 % of the variance. Multiple regression model analysis output indicated that some of the critica...

Workplace innovation brings radical change in the workers’ environment, thereby enhancing the profitability of companies. However, most research and discussion of innovations are focussed on product development and/or process improvement, disregarding workplace and service innovation. Hence, this study aims to identify gaps that exist in previous studies to recommend further research areas related to workplace innovation influences on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) interventions. The research was carried out through extensive literature reviews. It is evident that the influence of workplace innovation has been neglected in many studies despite the significance for workplace safety and health. Findings from the literature review revealed that workplace innovation has not been properly differentiated from new product development innovation and there are few cases of research carried out on the workplace innovation in particular. Thus, this research finding identified gaps in workplace innovation (non-technical innovation) such as workplace organisation, workplace layout, human resource management, top management changes, workers’ participation, policy and training. Hence, the workplace innovation influence on OSH indicates further research that can be conducted.

It is also to apply simulation in the design of an inventory control based on managing beginning inventory, number of orders as well as the utilization of resources in the printing process. Modeling of the management on inventories has its own role for sound economic system of a company. Because math-ematical models cannot accurately describe the complex system, simulation models are used. In preliminary research a simulation model is built and optimized to obtain the best strategy in combining inventory decision making and demand forecasting for intermittent demand when there is only uncertainty in demand like the case company. The printing process performance of the company is taken into account in optimizing the inventory related costs as final output.

Due to this reason, Dejena Aviation Industry (DAVI) has faced a problem to determine the optimum sequences of jobs on machines that can optimize the makespan. The purpose of this study is therefore, to minimize the makespan of the job shop production system of DAVI production system using shifting bottleneck algorithm. Secondary data was collected from the production log book five machines were considered during the production of five jobs. The findings of the shifting bottleneck algorithms showed that an 8.33% reduction in the total makespan of the company job shop production system. Moreover; machine one (41%) and three (36%) are found to be least utilized machines whereas machine three (64%) and five (59%) are relatively the busiest machines. Keywords: job shop scheduling, machine shop, make span, shifting bottleneck

The 2004 World Health Report shows that of the 1.2 million people killed in road crash worldwide, 85% are in developing countries. The traffic police of Ethiopia usually reports human error, road environment and vehicle factors as the main causes of road crashes. However, little documentation is available on the broader underlying factors such as deficiencies in the breviaries changes, ineffective road safety legislation and enforcement, systems for data collection and management, and inadequate medical infrastructure for post-injury management in our country. Although a variety of road safety interventions have been successfully applied, little attempt has been made to promote and implement them. Every year, around 400...

Supply chain management is a vital issue for the global competitiveness win situation and stay in the market. Here in the case of Anbessa shoes Share company (ASSC), raw materials are procured and ladies, child and men shoes are produced at its factory, shipped to warehouses for intermediate storage, and then shipped to retailers or customers. The supply chain, which is also referred to as the logistics network, consists of suppliers, manufacturing centers, warehouses, distribution centers, and retail outlets, as well as raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished products that flow between the facilities in the Abessa shoe factory. The company has experienced problems of market assessment, market research and development center and product distribution methods faced as big challenge leading to produce supply chain risk source at different point which leads them out of glo...
