Because of the myriad ways in which computer systems and data may be exploited, cyber security is a burgeoning discipline. Online banking information, medical or financial information, and intimate images are examples of data that may require cyber protection. However, as there are challenges to cyber security, it is not always straightforward to apply. Any criminal act that aims to destroy or steal data, as well as disrupt digital life in general, is considered a cyber-security threat. This paper discussed the emerging threats in the cyber security space, analysed and identified some associated cyber security risks and proffered possible solutions that could mitigate the activities of cybercriminals on the internet and evoke vigilance on those that use the internet daily for business and personal activities.

The study addressed the pressing need for robust and accurate predictive models for Diabetes Mell... more The study addressed the pressing need for robust and accurate predictive models for Diabetes Mellitus (DM) by developing an improved diagnostic system utilizing ensemble classifiers. Recognizing limitations in existing models due to inadequate datasets and weak classification methods, this work adopted an Agile methodology to create an enhanced prediction model. Leveraging four supervised learning classifiers (XGBoost, Linear Regression, Naïve Bayes, and Random Forest), a merged dataset from Kaggle and UCI repositories, comprising 769 instances and 9 attributes, forms the foundation for training and testing. Rigorous data cleaning, normalization, and feature extraction focused on critical attributes related to diabetes, resulting in an 80%:20% training-testing split. The ensemble classifier employed a voting mechanism to identify the best-performing model based on prediction accuracies. The implementation, executed in Python and HTML, involved the development of a user-friendly web application deployed on Heroku cloud servers. Real-world clinical datasets tested the system's efficacy, revealing compelling performance metrics: an overall accuracy of 90.05%, precision at 78%, recall reaching 75.5%, and an F1-score of 78%. These results highlight the system's superiority over existing models, presenting a promising solution beneficial to DM patients, healthcare facilities managing DM cases, and research communities striving for improved diagnostics in diabetes care.

In the context of signal processing with the attendant risk of intrusion and distortion of signal and data transmitted in the cloud computing environment, it expedient for the implementation of a more proactive, robust and secure framework to ensure integrity of the data transmitted irrespective of the domain. Using a systematic review methodology, the paper reviewed the efficiency of the application of blockchain technology for secure signal processing in a cloud-computing environment. The study further revealed that the basic features of immutability, transparency, anonymity, minting, decentralization and reliability of blockchain technology ensures for the strict adherence to data security concerns as no one node on the network can alter and change data on each block on the network without the consensus of other nodes, this guarantees transparency and trust in the network.

In the auto manufacturing industry, the 21st century has witnessed a lot of successes and advancement in automotive technology. The driving power underlying these advancements is ICT. In recent times, modern vehicles are becoming equipped with smart features such as geomapping, navigation, traffic signaling, vehicular tracking, and security. These features are dependent on ICT. This study is aimed at providing a systematic and chronological expository content on the interface that exist among Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), and autonomous navigation. It discusses the evolution and generations of autonomous systems, the architecture and functions of autonomous systems, the integral information and communication components in modern autonomous systems, as well as the future prospects of Big Data and IoT in sustaining the trend in the development of sophisticated autonomous systems. This study provides useful insights on the interplay between vital Artificial Intelligence, sensing, and transmission technologies which enable the receiving sending, processing of, and utilization, vital data from the autonomous systems immediate environment, routing information, managing obstacles, and automatic responses. It further highlights useful and material use cases and makes case on the ICT best practices for the design of better autonomous navigation systems.
