This research was conducted in January 2019 at Musamus University in the Department of English Language Education. The subjects in this study were all fourth semester students at the English Language Education Department who took Reading Four courses. There were 20 students participating in this study. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection is done by questionnaire, and interview. The questionnaire results are explained qualitatively. Data from the interview results are used to complete the data from the questionnaire. The results of the analysis of this study have found that students’ interest in reading is very lack. The study focused on literal and interpretive comprehension. The sample were the tenth grade students in MAN Pinrang which consisted of 28 students in A group and 28 students in B group that were taken randomly. The study used quasi experimental design. Reading test in form of multiple choice and true-false was used in collecting data. As the result, before giving treatment in A group by using collaborative strategic reading, the students’ comprehension in reading text was low. The lowest score was 20 and the highest score was 60. After giving treatment, the score was improvement that was 76.67 for the highest score while the lowest score was 40. It correlated to the mean score result of post-test that A group score was (64,88) higher than the result of B group (52.02). This study aims to investigate the use of finding difficulties word technique at improving pupil’s in writing skill and narrative texts in particularly. Describing of the pupil’s difficulties in writing narrative text, and investigating the effectiveness of finding difficulties word technique to build up pupils’ ability in writing narrative is the objective of this study. Result figured out that finding difficulties word technique in writing narrative texts has significantly effect at improving pupils’ ability. The average score of the pre-test was 62.23. Cycle 1showed 67.45 and cycle 2 showed 80.47. Furthermore, the average score of the post-test was 94.65.
