In this study was to assess the knowledge and attitude of mothers on nutritional requirements and feeding practies of infants A total of 222 mothers who gave birth in the Department of Obstetrics at Cukurova University Medical Faculty were subjected to a questionnaire before they were discharged from the hospital The mean breast feeding period of the mothers in their previous child was 10 2 months and they gave supplemental food at the average age of 4 2 months At the end of the sixth month only 6 of the mothers were feeding their babies exclusively with breast milk and 50 of mothers were not breastfeeding their babies anymore Most of the mothers had enough and correct information about infant feeding but a small minority were informed to give supplemental food before the age of four months In conclusion a great majority of the mothers living in our province were thought to have correct information about breastfeeding but they need to be thought some practical aspects of nursing Key words: Breast Feeding Infant Nutrition

YENIDOĞAN CILT DURUM SKORU TURKCE FORMUNUN GECERLIK VE GUVENIRLIĞI OZET Amac: Bu arastirmanin amaci, yenidoganin cilt durumunu degerlendirmede kullanilan ve orijinal adi “The Neonatal Skin Condition Score” olan, Yenidogan Cilt Durum Degerlendirmesi (YCDD)’ni Turkce’ye kazandirarak, Turkce Formu’nun gecerlik ve guvenirligini belirlemektir. Yontem: Bu arastirma metodolojik olarak yapilmistir. Arastirma Mayis 2009 ve Kasim 2009 tarihleri arasinda Aydin’da bir universite hastanesinin Yenidogan Yogun Bakim Unitesi (YYBU)’nde yatan ve olasiliksiz ornekleme yontemi ile secilen 61 yenidogan bebekle yapilmistir. Veriler, calisma grubundaki Bebekleri Tanitici Bilgi Formu ve “Yenidogan Cilt Durum Degerlendirmesi” olcegi ile toplanmistir. A Thanatophoric dysplasia, is a severe congenital anomaly which mostly causes stillbirth or death of the affected baby within hours due to respiratory insufficiency. The diagnosis of TD is typically suspected on ultrasound during the second trimester of pregnancy, when severe shortening of the long bones, frontal bossing, flattened vertebrae, and short ribs that result in a narrow thorax and bell-shaped abdomen, can be seen. Here, we present a case with prenatal ultrasonographic findings suggestive of TD, and highlight the patient's postnatal dysmorphic features and typical radiographic findings. The definitive diagnosis of TD type I (TDI) was made postnatally, when molecular genetic analysis revealed the previously described p.R248C mutation in FGFR3. This case is reported due to its relative long life span and the definitive molecular diagnosis that could be made during hospitalization.
