Fraud has a significant negative impact on most businesses because a huge sum of money could be lost to fraudsters. The questionnaire that was completed and returned served as the foundation for testing and delving into the research ideas. To analyse the data, the ordinary least squares (OLS) regression technique was used. This had created a problem for the survival and successful operations in business organizations, which necessitates this study to examine the application of forensic accounting skills in the detection of financial crimes of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria. Data were collected from primary sources through the administering of forty-five (45) structured questionnaires to the staff within the accounting department of fifteen (15) manufacturing firms operating in Kano State. Multiple regression analyses were employed for analysis. The findings revealed that the forensic level of skills by accountants and forensic financial crime investigation has a positive and significant relationship with the detection of financial crimes of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria. This suggests that an increase in the forensic level of skills by accountants and forensic financial crime investigation would lead to an increase in the detection of financial crimes. Similarly, there is insignificant association between forensic expert consultants and the detection of financial crimes, implying outsourcing of forensic experts did not influence the detection of financial crimes of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria. Therefore, the study recommended among others that the management of the manufacturing firms in Nigeria should employ more forensic accountants who have the requisite knowledge, skills, competence, capability, experience and experts in forensic financial crimes investigation. This will go a long way in maintaining, minimizing and enhancing the detection of financial crimes of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria. Keywords: Forensic Accounting; Financial crime Investigation; and Financial Crime Detection.

This was discussed based on the impact of micro finance policy in Nigeria. This study assesses the financing options available to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Therefore, the paper concludes that the government should focus more on promoting small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria by giving more microfinance banks opportunity to operate freely and give loan to the SMEs in Nigeria. The major recommendation is that Capacity building and sensitization programmes for all registered SMEs should be put in place by government to enlighten them on the benefits of good risk management and insurance of their businesses. Both the government and the banking sector should mutually agree on a credit guaranteed scheme strategy that will incorporate a risk-sharing arrangement as a way of encouraging the banks to channel funds to the SMEs sub sector for their gr...

The past two decades have seen the emergence of a global movement that calls for a new model of learning for the twenty-first century. There is now a significant body of literature focusing mainly on three topics motivations for a new model of learning, the specific competencies and skills needed for learners to function effectively in the twenty-first century, and the pedagogy required to stimulate those capabilities. Most African countries are still grappling and yet to understand and promote learning that can foster sustainable development. This policy driven conceptual paper identifies multiple drivers working to transform the content that African learners need to be taught and the methods for teaching and learning.
