Many researchers across the globe have conducted research in this field to establish how vocabulary learning is possible; nevertheless, no authentic solution in this regard has been suggested so far. Without lexical knowledge and understanding, it is hard to get a command of the second language or even speak it fluently. Consequently, this study aims at conducting a metaanalysis of 18 studies to explore the utility of various strategies and approaches suggested in this research project regarding vocabulary learning or lexical knowledge.

For this, the application of Facebook was taken to observe comments of Pakistani cricket supporters. The study is designed to first identify, then discuss actual and situational meanings of semantic structures that have been solely employed for cricket matches. It was possible with the adoption of the model of analyzing the semantics of lexis given by Geeraert’s (2009). The project is designed on descriptive (survey). Corpus from the commentary section on Facebook was taken that comprised 4 chats on Facebook and (24) chats on sub-pages of Facebook. They were all coded from 1-24 as (C1 to C-24). The following chats have been carefully extracted to fulfill the purpose of the study in the platform groups of Facebook. They were visualized under principles to find the semantics of lexis through the proposed model (2009) of Geeraert. The findings of the project revealed that Pakistani supporters of Cricket have employed peculiar words and structures that verified specific interactions in the sports domain. Following phrases and words were possible to get interpreted with defined context. This has been concluded in the present study that chats on the Facebook application by Pakistani supporters of cricket have used the majority of sentences that were aligned to sports’ register and could only be understood as well employed by fans of cricket. This contribution tends to suggest in the end that following the framework of the following study, many studies on the relationship of sports with the use of language can be presented by research scholars in the future from different parts of the World with the employment of theory on the register of language by Halliday (1978).

The syllabus, curriculum or prospectus is nothing but a significance source which lends a hand to practitioners, teachers, faculty members and other driving forces to impart edification and knowledge to the future generations. It is evident that the theory and practice are two different things, hence mere the specialists are not adequate for developing a set of courses or syllabus but the experienced teachers, practitioners and instructors are also required to be involved in the curriculum development process. Undoubtedly, without involvement of experienced individuals, it will be an inflexible task and a narrow escape for curriculum developers to fit a curriculum into an unambiguous perspective under certain settings. Thus English speaking people ought to know several pragmatic basics as to keep ones away from misapprehensions at the time of communication. However, the maximum usage of English has need of a pragmatic proficiency that would assist all those aspirants who learn or speak this language as L2 (Second language). Thomas explained pragmatic ability like this that “the competence to examine language within a cognizant mode.”(Brown, 2007). MATERIALS AND METHODS HepG2 cell was treated with different concentrations of liraglutide at 0, 1, 10, 100, and 1000 nmol/L. The effect of liraglutide on HepG2 proliferation was detected by Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) method; the effect of liraglutide on the protein expression of c-Jun NH2-terminal Kinase (JNK) and phosphorylated JNK (p-JNK) was detected by Western blot; the degree of HepG2 apoptosis was observed by flow cytometry, and JNK pathway blocker SP600125 was used to further confirm that liraglutide promoted HepG2 apoptosis by regulating JNK signaling pathway. RESULTS The proliferation inhibition rate of HepG2 cells increased with time and the increase in the concentration of liraglutide. The proliferation inhibition rate was the strongest when cultured for 48 h, and the IC50 (half maximal inhibitory concentration) was about 100 nmol/L of liraglutide. 1...

In order to find the ideology of the beauty advertisements in Pakistan, three renowned beauty commercials were taken for analysis of their discourse. The three beauty creams that are made a part of the critical discourse are Golden Pearl Beauty Cream, Fresh White Beauty Cream and Faiza Beauty Cream.
