A series hybrid electric vehicle powertrain design study has been presented and a previously developed MATLAB/Simulink model has been used to simulate the designed vehicle in two drive cycles using a soft hybrid energy management strategy. Also performance simulations have been conducted for all electric drive mode and results have been compared with the measurements taken from an experimental vehicle.

An advanced cell model is proposed providing better State of Health (SoH) determination for overcharge behavior in operation of Li-ion Polymer batteries. Li-ion polymer cell kinetic parameters were obtained using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) method and changes in these parameters were analyzed theoretically in cases of forced charging. Cell equivalent circuit was improved and additional parameters detected according to overcharge states. This yields a better detection and diagnosis capability for Battery Management System (BMS). These equivalent circuits and experimental results provide better classification when defining the irreversible changes caused by overcharging.

ABSTRACT The ESP telemetry system needs to receive accurate information on the pump unit'... more ABSTRACT The ESP telemetry system needs to receive accurate information on the pump unit's intake pressure, temperature and most importantly the electric motor stator cooling oil insulation resistance, for the successful exploitation of the ESP. The increasing disturbance levels with the corrupted analog telemetry signal are resulting in increasing noise levels; however, often it is still audible or the control system is still reliable. Beyond a certain disturbance level - digital cliff, the digital telemetry signal and control may stop abruptly. From ten applied adaptive filter algorithms, only three have shown successfully good results in the early prediction of the ESP electric motor real insulation disruption.

For this purpose, VisSim simulator is used and models of single and three-phase rectifiers, PWM choppers and inverters, AC choppers, SMPS networks, are developed and their performance waveforms are obtained. Conventional and brushless dc motor simulations are added to the package together with some load characteristics. It is believed that, this package would be a useful tool for teaching of power electronics and performance predictions of electrical drive systems.

A five-axis turbo molecular pump with two radial and one axial magnetic bearing is considered in this paper. The effect of the bias current on the energy consumption for both unidirectional and differential control current strategies is studied. It is

The vehicle is designed to go on urban roads, autonomously. This project has been implemented at The Transportation Technologies and Intelligent Automotive Systems, Application and Research Center (TTIS) which is established within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Okan University. The project has been planned to be developed in three stages. In the first development stage, majority of the vehicle mechatronics parts are completed and the autonomous drive is achieved by using the LIDAR. To achieve the autonomous operation, steering, throttle and braking systems are controlled electronically. The first two development stages were completed on March 2012. In the third development stage, the integration of GPS and other necessary sensors will be mounted to the vehicle and the autonomous operation of the vehicle will be accomplished under normal traffic conditions.

The approach adopts two methods of position prediction. The first method employs self-inductance variation, as established with finite element analysis. The second is based on induced voltage and zero-crossing point estimation. The problem of starting is resolved by sensing inductance for the first method and by providing a look-up table for each direction of rotation for the second method. Both proportional-integral-derivative and fuzzy control algorithms are developed, and simulated current and speed-controlled performance predictions are obtained. Daubechies discrete wavelet analyses of experimental and simulated waveforms are obtained, with emphasis on commutation intervals. An algorithm is developed to predict commutation instants from wavelet results. The simulation model and its wavelet analysis match the experiments.
