The main service modes of the prevention and health care in the countryside of Zhejiang Province ... more The main service modes of the prevention and health care in the countryside of Zhejiang Province are the following : 1. Treatment and prevention are united as one.2. An individual unit for prevention is established next to a hospital which is relatively independent.3. The government purchases the units. It is common that there exists the problems below:1. The input of funds isn’t enough.2. The mechanism of raising funds isn’t sound.3. The phenomenon of paying more attention to treatment than prevention is very serious and the function of prevention hasn’t been fulfilled.4. The network is tattered and it is hard to develop it.5. The ability of the staff isn’t high enough.6. The mechanism of running the modes isn’t smooth. All the problems above should be solved by reforming the service modes step by step.

This change consists of difficulty in communicating with society, badly social interaction and restricted and repetitive behavior, of- ten not dealing with changes in routine. Due to these obstacles faced by autists, forms of intervention arise in order to social inclusion towards these people, such as alternative methods that help autistics communicate. The Picture Exchange Communication System - PECS is one of these assistive tools, based on picture communication, one simulates autism and others everyday foods and objects. However, this method has some issues, for example, some of them cannot associate an illustrative figure that represents an object in reality, causing the PECS to be unusable. From this, this project based on the development and implementation of the site “SeuPecs”, based on the above Communication System, with the creation of un...

The goal of this project is to characterize and investigate the potential recovery of heavy minerals from selected Brazilian placer occurrences. Two areas of the coastal region were chosen, in Piaui state and in Bahia Provinces. In all samples, the heavy minerals of interest (ilmenite, monazite, rutile, and zircon) were identified by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques and also quantified by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). The total heavy minerals (THM) in the Piaui samples were 6.45% and 10.14% THM, while the figure for the Bahia sample was 3.4% THM. The recovery test of the Bahia sample, using only physical separation equipment such as a shaking table and magnetic separator, showed valuable metallurgical recoveries at a...

With a staff of scarcely more than a dozen and an income of only £2,600,000, the Foundation is on an altogether smaller scale than its co-tenant. But the Foundation, an autonomous inter-governmental body, funded by voluntary subscriptions and answering to a Board of Trustees, has been the catalyst for an astonishing growth and increasing involvement of the voluntary and non-governmental organisations of the Commonwealth. Its origins preceded the Secretariat, since the idea of a foundation to foster professional linkages had been mooted in the early 1960s and was part of the Way Ahead package presented to the 1964 PMMs. Although ‘overtaken’ by the Secretariat, the Foundation was considered and approved by exactly the same procedures, which brought forth the Secretariat during 1964 and 1965. After Arnold Smith commenced work as Secretary-General in August 1965, the Foundation’s first Director, John Chadwick, followed on 1 March 1966.

The aim of this thesis was to study the long-term results after VV surgery, risk factors for recurrences and the effect of preoperative duplex scanning on recurrence rate, quality of life (QoL) and costs. In a follow-up study 89 patients with 100 legs operated on for VV 6–10 years earlier were re-examined with duplex, in 13 cases also with varicography. 57% had incompetent vessels in the groin visible with duplex, equally well defined by varicography. Residual branches could not be differentiated from new vessel formation. The recurrence rate did not correlate to the surgeon’s level of experience or perioperative difficulties at primary surgery. In a prospective randomized study 293 patients (343 legs) were operated on for primary VV with or without preoperative duplex. Duplex was done postoperatively, at 2 months and 2 years. QoL was measured with SF-36 preoperatively, at 1 month, 1 year and 2 years. After 2 years the number of reoperations were 2 in the group with preoperative duplex and 14 in the group without (p=0.002). Incompetent veins were seen in the saphenofemoral or saphenopopliteal junction in 19 and 53 legs respectively (p<0.001).Preoperative QoL was worse in the VV patients compared to a reference population, and was normalised 2 years postoperatively. The improved surgical result in the duplex group was not reflected in a significantly higher QoL. The lower costs for redo surgery in the duplex group did not offset the costs for duplex, partly due to more extensive primary surgery. A significant proportion of recurrences after 2 years was new vessel formation and progression of disease. Preoperative perforating vein incompetence did not influence recurrence rate, and was abolished without specific interruption in 60% at 2 years postoperatively.
The charge storage process of amorphous hydrated manganese dioxide (MnO2) as a pseudo-capacitor i... more The charge storage process of amorphous hydrated manganese dioxide (MnO2) as a pseudo-capacitor involves a fast redox reaction at the electrode surface. In order to understand the charge storage mechanism of MnO2 as a pseudo-capacitor in an aqueous KCl solution, we monitored the change of the capacitance by varying the pH of the solution, the cation of the electrolyte, the concentration of the KCl electrolyte, and the solvent. The charge storage mechanism of a metal oxide electrode such as MnO2 is concluded to involve a fast redox reaction through both the potassium ion exchange, MnO2 + δK+ + δe- ⇔ MnO2-δ(OK)δ and the proton exchange, MnO2 + δH+ + δe- ⇔ MnO2-δ(OH)δ dependent upon the availability of the cations in the electrolyte.
