Mandible is the most unique and durable bone which retain its morphology and is easily retrievable from the tragedy site without much damage. Mandibular parameters can help in assessing age and gender of the individuals. A study of mandibular measurements on 180 OPGs at SEGi University was conducted. Measurement of the ramus was done utilizing VixWinTM Platinum 3.0 to assess the usefulness of the mandibular morphology in age and gender determination. Statistical analysis of the record of 180 patients was done using SPSS software. 40% (n = 72) were male and 60% (n = 108) were female. The height of coronoid and maximum ramus breadth between male and female of all age groups showed a statistically significant result (p<0.05) for gender determination. Maximum ramus breadth (p=0.008) shows significant result for ethnic determination whereas the minimum ramus breadth (p=...

We describe a case which occurred in the maxilla of an adult Indian male. This article highlights the clinico-pathologic features of CCOC that were confirmed by histopathological examination of the case. The aggressive potential of this neoplasm is well documented and resection with negative margins is the treatment of choice. The present report is an addition to the sparse literature. anemic, not cyanosed, no signs of organomegaly. Patient’s pulse rate was 70/minute, respiratory rate 18/minute and blood pressure 140/90mm of Hg. On Extra oral examination, leftl submandibular lymph nodes were found to be enlarged and palpable. Size: 3×3cms on the left side. Tender and firm in consistency.

The main goal of treatment for TMD are to eliminate pain and joint noises and to restore normal mandibular functions1. There are number of therapeutic modalities for TMD includes conservative therapy, cognitive, physicaltherapy, behavioural therapy, pharmacological therapy and intraoral appliances. Various forms of physical therapy intervention, including ultrasound massage therapy (US) and Ozone oil therapy, can be potentially effective for management of TMJ pain disorder.5

Initially, similar central lesions of the jaw were referred to as reparative lesions. Since the reparative response was quite rare, the term "peripheral giant cell granuloma" is currently preferred and universally accepted. These benign reactive lesions usually treated with surgical resection with extensive clearing of the base of the lesion and elimination of the local etiologic factor and the recurrence rate after local excision is around 10%. This case represents the occurrence of PGCG in young male patient in maxilla with its surgical resection and no recurrence.

These artifacts can be mistaken for electrostatic discharges, ghost images, or ligature wires. The patient revealed a history of undergoing facial lift surgery 7 years ago. Here, we are presenting a case of unexpected and coincidental radiographic finding seen as multiple, linear radiopacities in the jaw bones stressing the need for sufficient knowledge of all the possible types of artifacts.

In our study, a total number of 50 patients that included both premalignant and malignant lesions were included. Oral brush cytology using a cytobrush was done for all patients, which was followed by incisional biopsy. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values were obtained. To see the agreement between two modalities Kappa test of agreement was applied. A P < 0.05 was considered to indicate statistical significance. Proportions were compared using Chi-square or Fisher's exact test. Brush cytology using a cytobrush is a reliable adjunct to histopathology in detecting oral premalignant and malignant oral lesions and can be easily performed with less cost and less discomfort. This technique showed ...

Susuk has various supposed purposes, ranging from the purely esthetic to the treatment of joint pains and other minor ailments. This practice is also used as protection against injury and accidents. This obscured secret of inserting charm needles is a traditional belief and a cultural phenomenon, commonly practiced among Southeast Asian women. Here, we present two such interesting cases of this concealed art as the incidental radiographic finding, which was done on a routine basis as a part of diagnostic workup at our SEGi Oral Health Center.
