In narrating the story of the castaways of La Meduse (1816), this work emphasizes the human disintegration in the extreme conditions in which life is threatened.

In the second part of the essay the Author shows that this singular story of the raft – with bloody fights and horrifying episodes of cannibalism – can constitute a laboratory for an intercultural ethical reflection.

The other result of the research was an installation – Phone / Bene (Schedario) – dedicated to four important works by Carmelo Bene: Manfred (1979), Pinocchio (1981), Variazioni per voce dai “Canti orfici” di Dino Campana (1982), Voce dei Canti di Giacomo Leopardi (1998). In the installation and in the essay the emphasis is placed on the musical dimension of the voice and its difference from the music, the song and the Sprechgesang .

The work was performed twice at the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Filosofici (Palazzo Serra di Cassano, Via Monte di Dio, 14): May 30th, 2017, in the Hall of Mirrors, and May 23th, 2018, in Theater of Philosophy and Arts. An essay by the Author ( Breve nota sul ruolo del leggio nel teatro musicale di lettura ) introduces the lectorial score. In this essay the Author demonstrates the function of the lectern: it opens new communicative and expressive horizons.
